Prune your kalanchoe twice now, and come winter you will have countless flower buds

Yesterday a fellow flower lover left Chengcheng a message asking how to prune kalanchoe and when is the best time to prune it.
Chengcheng wants to tell everyone: if you want your kalanchoe to bloom into a big ball of flowers, pruning is definitely a must, and the best time to prune is August every year!
That is because the flowering period of kalanchoe is in autumn and winter. By September, kalanchoe will begin to differentiate flower buds and develop flower buds! Once it starts differentiating flower buds, we absolutely must not prune it anymore!
So how do you prune it? This is actually very simple, just follow the methods below!
1. Pinch off the top
If you want your kalanchoe to bloom more in winter, you need to pinch off the tips and the top, so that its branches will sprout more side shoots. Only when there are many side shoots will it develop more flower buds, and that way, by winter, it will bloom into a big ball of flowers!
2.If you want your kalanchoe to bloom more, besides pinching off the tips and the top to make it sprout more side shoots, we also need to cut off some branches that are too dense, too weak, or even have spots on the leaves.
This way, first, it can avoid consuming too many nutrients, and second, it can increase the overall air circulation of the plant and prevent some diseases from occurring!
In addition, some flower lovers may say, the kalanchoe I am growing is still rather small, does it need pruning? Actually, this needs pruning even more. For some small kalanchoe seedlings, we need to pinch off the growing tip when it grows to 5 pairs of leaves!
Because only when you pinch off the growing tip will it sprout new shoots. When the new shoots grow to 5 pairs of leaves again, we pinch off the growing tip again. Whenever you feel the plant shape has grown to your satisfaction, then stop pruning this way!
Pruning kalanchoe is just this simple. If we want it to bloom into a big ball of flowers in autumn and winter, then pick up the scissors right now and give it a couple of snips!
