What meaning and symbolic significance does Bleeding Heart Vine have?

1. Symbolic meaning

The Bleeding Heart Vine has extremely green leaves and attractive flower colors, and is full of poetic charm, so people often use it as a potted plant to decorate windowsills or balconies. In summer, although its flowers are not as colorful as those of other flowers, it does not fear the heat and grows tenaciously under the summer sky, hiding red beads like the fire of life, spitting them out one after another, making people instantly feel the tenacity of life. At the same time, it also carries the meaning of preciousness and purity, and an extremely passionate inner heart.

2. Legend

In the mid-18th century, a British traveler named Keith Thomson went to Africa on a trip one day and suddenly saw many dark-skinned girls wearing flowers of the Bleeding Heart Vine linked together and hung on their chests. Under such a huge contrast of black and white, he became very interested, so he collected its seedlings and took them back to plant. At that time, because he was the first person to discover this flower, he named it after himself.

Later, toward the end of the 19th century, Mali began to manage these flowers and plants and renamed them "Pearl Pagoda," which sounded extremely pleasant compared with the previous flower name. Then in the 20th century, it entered the international flower market. At first, sales were not very good, until the appearance of an overseas Chinese worker who, because he loved the flower extremely, renamed it "Dragon Spitting Pearls." From then on, sales increased greatly, and it was sold all over the world, thus becoming very famous.
