When succulent leaves are well cared for, they become plump and round, very cute. But do you know what to do when succulent leaves dry up?

Many succulents drop their leaves because the care environment suddenly changes and they cannot adapt. But some Echeveria-type succulents do not drop their leaves after they shrivel; they remain on the mother plant.

After succulent leaves dry up, be sure to clean them off. If you do not clean them, the leaves will stay on the plant, and watering will create a damp environment.

In this environment, all kinds of pests and pathogens will breed. The main one is mealybugs, which will damage the succulent plant and cause it to die.

When you see dried-up leaves on a succulent, you can gently hold the head of the succulent with your hand, then use tweezers to remove the dried-up succulent leaves from top to bottom.

When cleaning, be sure not to damage the succulent plant. If some leaves are not completely dried up and are still attached to the succulent plant when you clean them, you can wait until they are completely dry before removing them.

When there are many dried-up leaves on a succulent, after cleaning, some succulents will become unstable. At this time, use something small to prop up the plant so it can grow slowly. After a period of time, the plant will grow stable.

If mealybugs have already appeared on the plant when you are cleaning, you can wipe the affected areas with alcohol, which can make the mealybugs disappear.

If you are caring for a shorter succulent, be sure to apply a top dressing when caring for it. This can prevent the leaves from touching water on the surface of the potting soil after watering and thus rotting.
