At last we have said goodbye to the scorching heat of summer and are about to welcome the crisp, refreshing days of autumn. As the climate becomes more and more suitable, the golden moment for flower cuttings arrives along with it.

In this kind of weather right now, it is exactly the best time for taking cuttings of the following flowers. The cuttings root quickly and the success rate is high - truly a rare opportunity for cuttings, so flower lovers should get moving as early as possible.

Jasmine

First, select a branch that is growing well and is free of pests and diseases, and cut off about 10 cm to use as a cutting.

Prepare some loose, fertile soil with good air permeability as the soil medium for the cutting, then insert the cutting into the prepared soil to a depth of about one third.

Next, water the soil thoroughly with clean water, and keep it in a cool, ventilated place, keeping the soil moist. Basically, after about two to three weeks, the cutting will have rooted.

After the cutting has rooted, transplant it into a flower pot and just care for it as normal according to jasmine care methods.

Rose

Choose some relatively strong branches and cut off the excess leaves on them to prevent the loss of nutrients.

Then insert the cutting into a loose, breathable soil medium, water it thoroughly once, and gently press the soil around the cutting firm with your fingers.

After about two weeks, the cutting will successfully root. To shorten its rooting time, you can first apply some rooting powder to the cut end of the cutting.

Camellia

Choose a branch of about 10 cm as the cutting; you can keep one or two leaves on the cutting as appropriate.

Use vermiculite as the soil medium for the camellia cutting, insert the cutting into the vermiculite, and then water it with a large amount of water. Place the cutting in a cool, ventilated spot for care, keeping the soil moist.

When the cutting's roots have grown to about 3 cm, you can transplant the cutting into a flower pot for care.

Periwinkle

Periwinkle has a strong ability to adapt to the environment, so taking cuttings is relatively easier. First select a relatively healthy periwinkle branch, then insert it into a potassium permanganate solution and soak it for about 8 to 10 hours.

Next, put the cutting directly into clean water and care for it in a cool, ventilated place. After about a week, the cutting will successfully root.

Then take the cutting out of the water and move it into soil for care. Loose, fertile soil is beneficial to the healthy growth of periwinkle.

Lucky bamboo

Cut off a robustly growing lucky bamboo branch and remove all the excess leaves from it.

Apply some rooting powder to the cut end of the cutting, let it sit for about two hours, then put the cutting into clean water, with the water level not exceeding one third of the cutting.

Change the water once a week, and basically after about three weeks the lucky bamboo will have rooted. After that, you can either continue growing it in water or care for it in soil, according to your own preference.
