Grow pothos in this kind of soil and it will grow fast with lush foliage, its vines climbing everywhere

Grow pothos in this kind of soil and it will grow incredibly fast with lush foliage, its vines climbing everywhere!
Gardeners ask what soil is best for planting pothos? It is still the same old advice: for growing pothos, loose, breathable soil is absolutely the best. Only when the soil is loose and breathable can the roots grow well and strike deep; when the roots are good they can absorb more nutrients, and with more nutrients the plant grows lush foliage with vines climbing everywhere.
Generally, the pothos we buy are grown in greenhouses using coconut coir. Coconut coir has excellent water permeability, but it has no nutrients. If we use it to grow pothos, we must keep up with regular fertilizing, which is the best approach. Because the soil has no nutrients, if fertilizing cannot keep up, the plant will lack nutrients and develop yellow leaves and so on.
For growing at home, we can use a mix of leaf mold and river sand. These two types of soil can be found everywhere and cost no money, but before using them we must do a good job of killing insects and sterilizing. To kill insects, we can bury pesticide in the soil in advance, or scald it with boiling water. For sterilization, after planting we can directly water thoroughly with carbendazim diluted in water. Leaf mold can be found under trees in green belts, or we can ferment it ourselves. River sand can be found at construction sites, where they all use river sand. Mix these two types of soil in a 1:1 ratio. Soil like this is nutritious, loose and breathable, very good for growing pothos, and it costs no money.
If you want to save trouble and do not want to go out looking for soil or ferment it yourself, we can buy perlite, vermiculite and peat moss and mix them in a 1:1:4 ratio, then plant the pothos directly. Vermiculite can absorb water, because if you grow flowers in pure peat moss, its water absorption is very poor. After watering, the water lingers on the surface of the potting soil for a long time and cannot penetrate. It cannot be evenly distributed through the soil. Vermiculite can absorb water and then evenly disperse it into the peat moss. Perlite is a mineral; it plays the role of granular soil, can increase the soil's water permeability, and also contains certain minerals. Xiao Qi generally uses these three materials to mix soil for growing flowers. Soil like this is very good for growing flowers, and there is no need to kill insects.
There are many ways to mix soil. Granular soil that we can find everywhere, coal cinder, volcanic rock and the like can all be used as granules mixed into flower soil to increase the soil's water permeability. Autumn fallen leaves can be used for fermentation. Add a certain amount of garden soil and ferment it well, and it becomes very good nutrient soil; then mix it to grow flowers, and it is very good.
