When it comes to growing flowers, many gardening friends are puzzled: the flowers sold at the flower market all look great, so why is it that after we buy them and take them home, they wilt and develop yellow leaves after being kept for a while?

Chengcheng tells everyone: this is actually not the flower's problem, the problem lies with us! Because the flowers sold at the flower market are all grown in greenhouses, and the flower market where they are sold is basically built to imitate a greenhouse too,

The temperature and humidity in our homes definitely can't compare with a greenhouse, so after buying flowers and taking them home, all kinds of maladjustment will appear - in mild cases they will wilt and develop yellow leaves after being kept for a while, and in severe cases all the leaves will droop within a day or two!

So how do we prevent newly bought flowers from developing this situation? It's actually very simple, as long as we follow two "don'ts"!

One, don't rush to put them in the sun

After buying flowers and taking them home, absolutely don't rush to put them in the sun; be sure to place them in a cool, ventilated spot with indirect light and let them recover first. After 3-5 days, gradually let them get sunlight!

Because these newly bought flowers, whether in the greenhouse or at the flower market, have not received direct sunlight for many days. If you take them home and suddenly expose them to relatively strong light, they definitely can't handle it. If you put them in the sun right after buying them, yellow leaves and wilting are inevitable!

Second, don't rush to repot

If the flowers we bought came in their original pot and original soil, then absolutely don't rush to repot them, because at this time they are already not very adapted to the temperature and humidity at home, and repotting will more or less damage the root system. Once the root system is damaged and can't recover, that pot of flowers is done for!

So for newly bought flowers, at the earliest you should wait until the original potting soil has dried out completely before repotting them!

Everyone remember: for newly bought flowers, as long as you remember these two "don'ts", water less and don't fertilize, there basically won't be any big problems!
