What we are talking about today is the hydrangea. Hydrangeas are easy to keep alive, have vivid flower colors, and bloom into balls, cluster after cluster, absolutely beautiful! Below, let me introduce the cultivation methods for hydrangeas!

Cultivation methods for hydrangeas:

(1). Temperature requirements

The most suitable temperature for hydrangeas is between 18 and 28 degrees, so the plant grows more robustly and the flowers bloom larger and more vivid. In winter, move them indoors for care in time or take good measures to keep them warm. The indoor care temperature should be kept above 5 degrees, otherwise the plant is easily frostbitten.

(2). Soil requirements

Hydrangeas require loose, fertile, and well-aerated acidic soil. A soil mixed from 4 parts leaf mold, 3 parts garden soil, 2 parts river sand, and 1 part cake fertilizer can be used as the growing medium. This preparation can meet the plant's growth needs.

(3). Light requirements

Hydrangeas are shade-loving plants, so they do not need sufficient light. Avoid exposure to strong sun, especially in summer when sun protection must be done well. In autumn, appropriately increase light, and in winter they can be placed in a sunny spot indoors for care, which helps them get through the winter.

(4). Water requirements

Hydrangeas are moisture-loving plants. Just keep the soil moist when watering, and do not water too much or allow waterlogging, as this will cause waterlogging, most easily damage the plant's root system, and affect flowering and growth. In spring and summer, watering can be appropriately increased to maintain a moist state. In autumn and winter, reduce watering to improve cold resistance and help the plant get through the winter.

(5). Timely pruning

Hydrangeas need pruning during the growing period. Cut off excess branches, otherwise it is not conducive to the healthy growth of the hydrangea and consumes nutrients. Before winter arrives, the hydrangea can be appropriately shortened a bit, which allows the plant to overwinter safely.
