The nutrient solution for pothos and spider plants is actually kitchen waste; add a little and you won't need to fertilize for half a year

Shitou has always held one view: people who love growing flowers are diligent people; people who love growing flowers are people with delicate minds; people who love growing flowers are people good at discovering life. I wonder whether all you flower lovers agree with this view? Just like all you flower lovers, Shitou has also been growing flowers for many years. On the one hand, it is because I really love growing flowers; on the other hand, it is also to pass the time at home, and I always like to find some little flower-growing tricks myself.
For example, looking for all kinds of fertilizers at home. Shitou himself tried using soybeans to brew flower fertilizer; using discarded fruit peels to brew flower fertilizer. Recently, Shitou took out the waste oil from the range hood at home and used it as flower fertilizer. Buried in the pots of spider plants and pothos, the plants grew very well. Today Shitou will share with everyone how to use the waste oil from the range hood at home to make flower fertilizer, bury it in the pots of spider plants and pothos, and let them grow quickly. Fertilize now, and you won't need to fertilize again this year. Simple and convenient. It also saves the money for flower fertilizer.
Kitchen "waste" is actually the "nutrient solution" for pothos and spider plants! Add a little now and you won't need to fertilize for half a year
In the past, every time I cleaned the waste oil from the range hood, I poured it out as garbage. A few days ago, Shitou cleaned the range hood at home again. Suddenly I remembered that a flower lover had shared before: bury the waste oil from the range hood at home in flower pots and use it as fertilizer, and the fertilizer effect is very good. In fact, the waste oil in the range hood is just the rapeseed oil, peanut oil and other vegetable oils used when cooking in the kitchen every day. After being heated, part of them becomes oil fumes and is absorbed by the range hood. The main ingredients are still oils and vitamins and other substances, rich in elements such as nitrogen and phosphorus, and can be used as plant flower fertilizer, so Shitou also tried it himself. In fact, it is very simple to do. According to your own situation, it can be divided into two fertilization methods:
1. Bury directly in the flower pot
This method is the simplest method, but improper operation can be risky. Dig two small holes at the edge of the flower pot, and use a spoon to pour two spoonfuls of waste oil into each small hole. Pay special attention here: the place where the waste oil is added must be far away from the root system of the spider plant and pothos. Especially keep it away from the main root system; if it is too close, it is very easy to burn the root system, causing the plant to die and defeating the purpose. This kind of fertilization has a relatively strong fertilizer effect. Fertilize once now. This year you won't need to fertilize again. The fertilizer in the soil fully meets the growth needs of the spider plant and pothos.
2. Mix with water, ferment, and then water the flowers
Mixing with water and fermenting is mainly to allow the waste oil to fully ferment, prevent root burning, and reduce the risk of use. Especially for some flower lovers with insufficient flower-growing experience, this method is relatively safer. Put the waste oil into a plastic bottle. After adding water, leave a gap of five cm between the bottle mouth and the liquid surface, because gas will be produced during fermentation. Put the bottle in a cool place to ferment for one week. When you find white foam appearing in the bottle, it means the waste oil has fermented. Pour the fermented waste oil directly into the flower pots of spider plants and pothos. Especially for plants with fleshy roots like spider plants, they very much like fermented fertilizer.
Use the waste oil from the range hood as flower fertilizer for spider plants and pothos through the above two methods, and the fertilization effect is immediate. Basically after one week, you will find that the leaves of the pothos grow glossy green, and the spider plant will also grow many new shoots, with emerald green leaves. Of course, this waste oil can also be used as fertilizer and added to the flower pots of other plants. Plants like Christmas cactus, clivia, Radermachera sinica, and Pachira aquatica all relatively like fertilizer, and the use effect is very good.
In fact, growing flowers is just this simple. It is about discovering little tricks in life, constantly trying and exploring, and this is also the joy and fun of growing flowers. In fact, growing flowers is about following your interests and discovering interesting things in life.
This is a method for using waste oil from a kitchen range hood as flower fertilizer. Diligent flower lovers, hurry up and try it. It will definitely not disappoint you!
