Newly bought small flowers and plants, after just a couple of days, some die and some wilt, and it is truly heartbreaking. In fact, you have not paid attention to these small details. If you have also bought flowers recently, then you should check whether you are caring for them correctly!

- Improper repotting -

Many flowers are transported long-distance by truck from the south to flower markets in various places, and some are moved from local greenhouses to flower shops. A sudden change in environment can easily make flowers and plants drop blossoms, buds and leaves, and if you repot them at this time, they are quite likely to die from repotting. You can observe the flowers and plants: if they are rather weak and listless, or in full bloom, then they are not suitable for immediate repotting. Generally, it is better to wait until the plants have recovered from transplanting, or to repot after flowering. After repotting, do not keep repotting again just because you think the pot does not look good; it is recommended not to repot more than 2 times a year.

In the hotter summer or colder winter, if you think the flower pot does not look good, you can slip it into a prettier pot, and wait until the cool weather of spring or autumn to repot, which is better.

- Improper watering -

For newly bought flowers, you should look up how to care for them; this is very simple, but very important. You should neither let them get too dry nor water them every day so they stay too wet. Water appropriately according to the care instructions. In addition, when watering, pay attention to watering thoroughly; if you water without soaking through for a long time, the roots at the bottom are prone to drying up and dying. How do you tell whether you have watered thoroughly? The simplest way is that after watering, water comes out of the drainage holes at the bottom; it is best to water twice. Sometimes the potting soil has cracks, and water escapes through the cracks, while the soil inside is still dry.

- Unsuitable environment -

Most flowers in flower markets are cared for in greenhouses, where humidity and temperature are very suitable. Flowers such as rhododendrons require a high-humidity environment, so if after buying them you take them home and your home environment cannot guarantee that, you should often not buy them. If you really like them, then place them in a suitable position and in the early stage create some suitable conditions so the flowers and plants gradually adapt to the home environment.

In addition, some flower lovers also have some misunderstandings about plants' care environment. For example, shade-loving plants do not mean they need no light at all; they need at least a little weak light, and being in very shady conditions for a long time also easily makes the leaves turn yellow and thin and small. Light-loving plants lacking light will have yellowing leaves, weak stems and leggy growth; at the same time, note that during strong light and high temperatures, they should be properly shaded, otherwise they will also get sunburned. Of course, shade-loving plants definitely should not be exposed to the sun, otherwise they will wither and die in one afternoon.

Liking a dry environment does not mean you can go 1 month without watering, and liking moisture does not mean spraying water mist on the plants every day. Moisture-loving plants in a dry environment will have scorched edges and dry up, but they also do not need to stay moist all the time; it is better for them to be dry at night. Some flowers with fuzzy hairs are instead prone to disease when kept in a moist environment for a long time.

In short, it is best to do things in moderation and in the right amount.

- Flower pots without holes -

I have seen quite a few flower lovers who, when growing succulents, fear water leaking onto the floor and buy flower pots without drainage holes. Even if your watering technique is excellent, these flowers and succulents will not live long. Water cannot drain out of the pot, which easily causes the roots to lack oxygen and rot, leading to plant death. Pots without holes are only suitable for some flowers that can be grown in an aquatic environment, such as pennywort, pothos, water lilies and so on

- Improper fertilizing -

Whether a flower lives or dies depends on watering, and whether it is raised well depends on fertilizing. This saying is correct, but sometimes fertilizing incorrectly can also cause the death of flowers. Fertilizing should follow the principle of applying thin fertilizer frequently; once the fertilizer is too concentrated, it will cause fertilizer burn to the plants, and the leaves will turn yellow and fall off. In addition, you must not apply raw fertilizer, especially some kitchen waste and raw human or animal manure, which not only easily burns the plants but also breeds bacteria, fungi, mosquitoes and insects, producing various pests and diseases.

In addition, for some flowers that bloom a lot and have a long flowering period, pay attention to supplementing fertilizer. Just like giving birth to a child, flowering consumes a large amount of nutrients, so after the flowers fade, fertilizer should be applied 1-2 times, otherwise the plants will grow poorly in the second half of the year.

The last point to note is

Fellow flower lovers, when growing flowers, pay more attention to your own unique micro-environment

Everyone's care environment is different

so care methods differ greatly

and you must never mechanically copy the reference materials

Although growing flowers is not some high-tech job

you still need to summarize your own experience and lessons

only then can you grow flowers you like!

Show it to friends who need it!
