Growing plants has now become a hobby for many people in their spare time after work. Placing a few pots of greenery and flowers at home not only lifts your mood when you come back, but also greatly improves the home environment. It really is a wonderful thing.

For instance, Huahua keeps some favorite greenery and flowers at home, and looking at them makes her happy. But yesterday, when Huahua visited a neighbor's house, she found that the neighbor's snake plant (Sansevieria trifasciata) was really well grown, with glossy green leaves that looked very healthy. Only after asking did Huahua find out that the neighbor's trick was giving the snake plant a little "soybean water"!

Fellow plant lovers all know that when fertilizing flowers and plants, people usually choose a dilute fertilizer solution containing nitrogen and phosphorus, which supplies nutrients to the roots, provides more nourishment, and speeds up growth so the plant grows more lushly. Soybean water is rich in nitrogen, so it is very suitable for flowers and plants.

The method for making soybean water is also fairly simple. First, soak the soybeans in water for about 3 hours, then boil them until soft, alternating between high heat and low heat. Next, mash the cooked soybeans with a spoon, put them into a plastic bottle together with the water, and wait for fermentation.

At normal temperatures, fermentation takes about one month; in hot summer weather, ten days or so is enough. When using soybean water on plants, watering about 2-3 times a month is enough. When not in use, store the fermented soybean water in a cool place at home to prevent odors.

After being watered with soybean water, the snake plant will grow a bit faster, though regular care is of course still essential. In daily care, water the snake plant as little as possible and let the soil in the pot dry out somewhat; during the spring growing season, you can water slightly more.

The snake plant is a plant that likes light, so if conditions allow, place it in a spot with plenty of sunlight for care; a home balcony is a good place. The snake plant has relatively high temperature requirements for growth, around 25°C, so in winter, keep it indoors to prevent cold damage.

The snake plant's root system grows quickly, so once the pot becomes too small, be sure to repot it as soon as possible; otherwise, the cramped growing space will cause the leaves to turn yellow. For the snake plant's growing medium, choose one with good drainage as much as possible, which will prevent water from accumulating around the roots.

Huahua believes that with the methods above and the daily care points to note, fellow plant lovers' snake plants will also grow dense and vigorous. Of course, besides soybean water, everyday rice-washing water and willow branch water, after fermentation, are also good options for watering plants!
