Clivia is grown for both its flowers and its foliage; the blooms are graceful, dignified and beautiful, with high ornamental value. Grown at home, it creates a green and comfortable environment for us. During care, clivia needs fertilizing, and in fact you can make your own clivia fertilizer with obvious results - the leaves become so green they drip with oil, and it blooms every year! Below is an introduction to how to make these fertilizers!

How to make clivia fertilizer:

(1). For clivia, use leftover food, bird droppings and expired milk together with unwanted beans and oil crops to make compost. Put these things together, mash them up, then seal them in a bottle, adding water to 90% full - do not fill it too full, otherwise it will overflow later. Place it in a certain amount of light and keep it warm; wait until the material in the bottle settles, the water turns black and there is no foul smell - at this point it has fermented well. The liquid on top can then be used as a base fertilizer for clivia, and it needs to be diluted when used.

(2). Medicinal herb residue contains minerals, organic matter and inorganic substances, and can provide the plant with the nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer it needs. When planting or repotting, it can be mixed into the soil in an appropriate amount; once the residue rots and turns into humus, it can be used.

(3). Eggshells - I believe quite a few flower lovers know about these. The method is to rinse the egg white off the leftover shells, dry them in the sun, then crush them into powder; use 1 part powder plus 2 parts soil. Growing clivia this way can make the plant's leaves thick and plump, fresh and glossy green.

(4). Beer contains nutrients such as sugar, protein, amino acids and phosphate. Adding an appropriate amount of beer when watering can help the plant grow and make the leaves thick and large.
