Recently, a gardening friend sent Huahua photos of his Clivia, and his Clivia was grown from his own Clivia seeds! Why can his Clivia set seeds every year? Huahua specially got the master's secret to growing Clivia, so come and take a look!

Grow Clivia this way, and it will set 10 fruits in a year!

1. Put the Clivia here, and its leaves will be glossy and not turn yellow

Clivia relatively likes light, so it is best to keep it on a balcony with plenty of light or grow it outdoors, but when the summer light is rather strong, some shading is needed.

2. Water Clivia this way, and its roots will not rot for 10 years

When the soil layer on the pot surface dries to 1cm, water it thoroughly once, and keep watering until clear water flows out of the bottom of the pot. This method allows the roots to fully absorb water and oxygen, and it can also wash away excess fertilizer.

3. Use this soil to grow Clivia, and its roots will grow stronger and stronger

The most important thing in caring for Clivia is the soil mix. You can mix leaf mold, coniferous soil, sand, and charcoal in a 10:3:3:2 ratio. This kind of soil is permeable and breathable, and makes rooting easy.

4. Apply nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium this way, and Clivia will never have its roots burned

When repotting or potting up Clivia, put some bone meal at the bottom of the pot as phosphorus fertilizer, mix the soil according to the method Huahua gave above, and charcoal can serve as potassium fertilizer, so you only need to apply a dilute cake fertilizer solution once every half month at ordinary times.

Grow Clivia this way, and its leaves will not turn yellow for 10 years!

Clivia flowers are beautiful, and its leaves are even more beautiful, but many friends complain that their Clivia turns yellow at every turn. What exactly is the reason?

1. Normal yellow leaves

During normal growth, Clivia will produce yellow leaves due to metabolism. Such yellow leaves are generally old leaves at the bottom that slowly turn yellow and soft from the root upward.

Solution: There is no need to worry too much; just let them fall off naturally.

2. Yellow leaves from too much water

If the tips of the old leaves of Clivia dry up and the new leaves appear tender yellow, it is basically caused by the growing medium holding too much water, too much watering, or too high environmental humidity.

Solution: Reduce the frequency of watering, check whether the drainage holes are blocked, and replace the growing medium if the situation is serious.

3. Yellow leaves caused by lack of water

If you find that the old leaves wither and fall off, but the new leaves are fine, and the amount of watering recently has been too little, it is generally caused by lack of water.

Solution: Appropriately increase the amount of watering or the frequency of watering.

4. Yellowing from too much fertilizer

The tips of new leaves turn brown, the tips of old leaves dry up and scorch yellow, and the leaves are thick but the leaf surface is not smooth and is uneven.

Solution: Stop fertilizing. If the situation is rather serious, flush the potting soil with plenty of water to reduce the fertilizer content in the soil.

A handful of small fruits, grow 10 pots of Clivia!

1. After Clivia flowers fade, it will produce many seed pods. Wait until the seed pods turn dark red and feel soft to the touch, which means the Clivia seeds are mature.

2. Cut off the mature seed pods, shell out the seeds, and put them in a place with scattered light and good ventilation to dry for about half a month.

3. Prepare a culture dish, add a small amount of clean water at the bottom, and put the soaked seeds into the culture dish to germinate for about 3-5 days. Gardening friends who do not have a culture dish can wrap the seeds in wet gauze and put them in a warm place.

4. Prepare some fresh sawdust for raising seedlings. First boil the sawdust in boiling water for about 15 minutes to disinfect it.

5. Spread the sawdust in the seedling box, first spray the sawdust wet with water, and place the successfully germinated seeds in the sawdust with the sprout tip facing down.

6. Put the seedling box in a place with scattered light and good ventilation, and spray water once in the morning and once in the evening every day. After about 20 days, the leaf sheaths will grow longer.

7. After the leaf sheaths grow to 2-3 cm, they can be moved out of the seedling box and planted in flower pots for care.

8. Put the flower pot in a place with scattered light for care. For the first two days, withhold water first, and afterward just keep the potting soil slightly moist. Before long, the seeds will grow small leaves one by one.

8. After the leaves grow large enough, you can divide them into separate pots and carry out normal care.

Grow them according to Huahua's method,

and your Clivia will surely set quite a few fruits too!

If you have even better care methods,

you are welcome to leave a comment and share them with everyone~
