Summer is almost over, and you still haven't decided what flowers to grow at home? Then just skip buying them - take a stroll to a friend's place and see if you can snap off a few stems to take home, and try rooting cuttings yourself from scratch! Yatou recommends these few:

1. Moss rose

No need to go looking for a friend - just check the roadside planting strips for this little flower and snap off a few stems. If you already grow it at home, it's about worn out after a summer anyway, so pinch off a few leaves and re-root them as cuttings!

2. Kalanchoe

Every time cuttings come up, Yatou mentions kalanchoe, because it roots especially easily. It roots fast and can bloom the very same year! The method is simple too: choose stems from the current year's growth, keep 1-2 leaves on each stem, and stick them straight into loose, airy soil. Water once after planting, then just keep the soil moist!

3. Hydrangea

Hydrangeas that have just finished blooming are now at the stage of sprouting new shoots, so this is a good time to take cuttings. Choose sturdy stems, cut each one to 8-10 cm, and keep 2-3 leaves on each stem. After planting, put the pot in a shady spot, and it will take about a month to root!

4. Geranium

Geraniums are usually propagated from older stems - choose 5-8 cm stems and keep 2-3 leaves on each one. After planting, shade them appropriately, then move them into a spot with light after a week, and they will root in about a month.

5. Bougainvillea

Bougainvillea cuttings take root very easily in autumn. Usually choose stems from the current year's growth, soak the bottom of the stems in rooting water for 30 minutes, then plant them. They root in about a month or so. Of course, some people use floral foam or foam to root them in water before planting, which gives a slightly higher survival rate.
