Plant peonies now, and next spring every pot will be full of prosperity flowers

Many people call the "peony" our national flower, and it enjoys the reputation of "national beauty and heavenly fragrance." Huahua feels the same way. Peony flowers are elegant in appearance and brilliant in color, and they also have medicinal value, making them truly beautiful and "useful"! When we go out on ordinary days, we can always see large patches of peonies planted in some scenic areas, blooming so delightfully! It makes people want to grow a pot at home too!
Today Huahua will satisfy everyone's wish and teach everyone how to grow a pot of "national beauty and heavenly fragrance" peonies at home in containers!
Peonies are not very picky about soil. Even the soil in the grass patch downstairs can keep a peony alive. Peonies should be given neutral soil. That said, since you have decided to grow a pot of peonies well, finding something with good air permeability and loose texture is always better. If conditions allow, you can also mix sand soil and cake fertilizer yourself, and the effect will be even better.
Because the peony's root system is relatively well developed and its fibrous roots are very long, when choosing a flowerpot you need to choose one that is deep enough, at least 30cm or more.
Then there is watering. There is no need to say much about how important watering is for growing flowers, right? In spring and autumn, the frequency of watering is about once every 10 days. When watering, water thoroughly, until water seeps out from the bottom of the pot. In summer, be careful not to water when the soil is not dry, and pay attention to keeping the soil moist. In winter, the temperature is low, so water less according to the peony's specific condition.
Peonies are sun-loving plants, so you must give peonies plenty of sunlight. The reason peonies produce such brilliantly colored and beautiful flowers, and grow so vigorously, is precisely sufficient light. Even if they like sunlight very much, during times when sunlight is very strong, such as summer, you still need to take shade measures to prevent the peonies from being scorched and affecting their appearance.
Peonies are different from other flowers. When fertilizing, you do not have to count out ten-plus days or twenty-plus days for each fertilizing. It is enough to fertilize peonies three times a year, respectively before flowering, after flowering, and before overwintering. Before the peony blooms, around early October, you need to apply one round of decomposed cake fertilizer or phosphorus fertilizer to the peony, so that it has sufficient nutrients when flowering. For the post-flowering fertilizer, choose to fertilize half a month after the peony blooms, also choosing decomposed organic fertilizer or compound fertilizer. Finally, there is the fertilizing before overwintering, called "wintering fertilizer," mainly organic fertilizer, to help the peony overwinter better. After fertilizing, there is still an important step, which is watering. Watering after fertilizing helps the plant absorb nutrients better and prevents the soil from clumping.
In addition, on ordinary days, pay attention to loosening the soil of the peony, once every half month, to prevent the soil from compacting into clumps and air permeability from worsening. In spring and summer, also pay attention to pruning the peony's branches. First, cut off branches that grow chaotically, so the peony blooms more robustly; second, cut off spent flower branches, so next year the flowers can bloom more vigorously.
Once you have learned these things, I believe everyone will be able to grow beautiful peonies! Are you tempted? Why not give it a try right away?
