I believe most succulent enthusiasts have been poisoned by the Peach Egg's charm - that pink tender color and round plump leaves make it hard not to love.

Since we can't resist it, let's all be addicted together. Others obsess over cats, dogs, and piglets, but we obsess over Peach Eggs!

The great reveal of the old-stem Peach Egg, the highly toxic edition.

If succulents are said to be toxic, I think the most toxic thing is that they make you willingly empty your wallet to buy them houses (flower pots), buy them the most delicious food (nutrient soil), buy them jewelry (decorations), sun umbrellas (shade netting), skincare products (nutrient solution)... Who told you to grow so beautiful!

Gradually you discover that growing succulents is no different from being in love.

Today I want to share with everyone this flower-loving sister who is in love with the Peach Egg, and how on earth she grows her Peach Egg (Peach Egg) so beautifully。

Recently I received instructions from my superior Brother Tao, who complained that my Peach Eggs were grown too ugly, seriously unattractive, and told me to go to Sister Pingping's house to absorb some egg energy and find inspiration.

I always felt Brother Tao had the ability to predict the future. After arriving at Sister Pingping's house, I was immediately stunned. At that moment I had only one expression in my heart:Face-palming while slapping myself.

I've known Sister Pingping through growing succulents for 4 years. From the first time she saw succulents, she became obsessed with Peach Eggs, which everyone still called "Peach Egg" back then.

At that time she also grew them on her home balcony. Later, when space was really insufficient, she changed houses and now has this roughly 40 sq m terrace.

About 15 sq m of it has a glass room built on it, used for the succulents to overwinter. Outside of winter, many are placed outside for open-air growing. (Similar to my house-changing experience - we're all succulent slaves...)

Peach Eggs are rather risky when rained on, so most are still kept inside the glass room. However, the form control is very good. The soil is almost entirely full-grain golden maifanite.

Growth speed has become very slow, but the condition is excellent. Just as I was admiring how well they were grown, Sister Pingping threw out a remark:

The Peach Eggs are too ugly now, not round at all. You came at the wrong time, wrong time... (Double critical hit received)

They indeed don't look very round. Previously some flower lovers thought they were Peach Beauty, but the difference between the two is huge

Peach Egg is Graptopetalum, Peach Beauty is Pachyphytum, the two bloom completely differently. If you can't identify them by appearance, wait until they bloom and you'll know immediately.

But whether it's Peach Beauty or Peach Egg, they both look great when fattened up!

For growing Peach Eggs, I only admire Sister Pingping, haha! After going home I immediately planted 5-6 pots. I had been cleaning up dead plants all summer, and sure enough I got poisoned again.

Everything seemed like Brother Tao had arranged it, setting another trap for me.

Daily care is actually still those same points: ventilation, sunlight, pull the shade netting when sunlight is too strong (might open and close it several times a day), water roughly once every 10-15 days, a small amount each time, fairly strict water control. Those placed outside for open-air growing need almost no management - they rely on heaven for their meals.

Below are Peach Eggs placed outdoors for open-air growing. Actually it's not just Peach Eggs! Other succulents are in great condition too.

Creating the right environment is so important, which is why I've always believed that growing succulents on terraces and balconies is absolutely the most suitable space.

Open-air grown, Laura

Qianchuan, the color is a bit scary... sunburnt to bleeding

Xiaomi Star, open-air grown to a golden yellow...

Ice Plum, this variety only performs well in late autumn - give it a freeze and it turns pink-purple.

The classic Echeveria runyonii

Blackberry

Aeonium, in a dormant state, but dormant Aeoniums in our area don't need water cut off either.

Debbie, see! I told you purple is the color least likely to fade in summer! Worth growing!

Blue Bean

Furong Snow Lotus, looks a bit water-deficient, but recovers quickly once watered.

Open-air grown Peach Egg, actually as long as there's sufficient water, the leaves will spread out and become flat - flat eggs... As soon as you control water and provide sufficient sunlight, they'll quickly become round and plump again.

Lotus Palm types

Copper Kettle

Little Man Festival

Jade Lotus

Let's return to the main character! An old stem like this has been growing for 7 years, just like my bear paw.

I remember long ago I bought a small old stem. Back then Peach Eggs were terribly expensive, but because of hobby - hobbies need no reason, and are something you'll always give to.

Time really does change everything. At noon I had a meal with Sister Pingping and several other flower-loving sisters, and everyone was sighing about the changes growing succulents has brought to their lives.

Some people who never knew each other came together because of growing succulents, because of this hobby - going to greenhouses together to buy buy buy, researching together how to grow them well, exchanging experiences and tips, even going together to dig weathered rock and carry it home to plant succulents.

Many of the more complicated things in society become very simple here, which is also why I love succulents and gardens.

This kind of garden life gives you a beautiful aspiration. In reality it truly is very beautiful too, and then you work hard to achieve this kind of life. You'll change your state, your values, even your worldview will change. The beauty that gardening brings is more than just this.

These smaller Peach Eggs were all propagated by herself later. Of course there will be losses too. Just while I was taking photos I discovered several old stems on the tabletop whose branches had started to rot and turn to water, but I had already discovered and pruned them in time, drying the wounds and waiting to re-cuttage.

I especially like these two pots, the Peach Egg sisters

Some branches are rather risky, so I did unspeakable tying to them...

Finally, I hope everyone can share with others the experience and joy they've gained from their hobbies.
