Grow Succulents in Water: No Black Rot or Root Rot in Summer, and They Grow Like Crazy

Summer is a tough hurdle for succulents, and plant lovers try every trick to get their succulents through it safely. Today, Huahua is introducing a way to get succulents through summer: hydroponic succulents, simple and practical, so hurry up and learn along with Huahua!
What kind of succulents are suitable for hydroponics?
There are many kinds of succulents, but not all of them are suitable for hydroponics!
1. Liliaceae
In the Liliaceae family, aloe and Haworthia cooperi are the most suitable for hydroponics. Especially in summer, Haworthia cooperi turns black and shrivels as soon as it is exposed to the sun; at this time, hydroponics can restore its good looks after it has turned into a raisin!
2. Crassulaceae
The vast majority of succulents in the Crassulaceae family can be grown hydroponically. The more common ones include Echeveria 'Hera', Aeonium 'Zwartkop', Echeveria 'Black Prince', Echeveria runyonii 'Topsy Turvy', and Bryophyllum.
3. Agavaceae
In the Agavaceae family, snake plant is the most commonly grown hydroponically, and I believe quite a few plant lovers have tried growing snake plant in water.
How do you grow succulents hydroponically?
Hydroponic succulents are fairly simple: all you need is one succulent, a transparent hydroponic bottle, and an appropriate amount of clean water. Next, follow Huahua and do it step by step~
1. Prepare the hydroponic materials: a glass bottle (or any transparent water container), a succulent, rooting powder, carbendazim, nutrient solution, and scissors.
2. Besides making it easier to get through summer, hydroponics also has ornamental value. Since succulents grown in soil for a long time develop yellowed roots that affect their appearance, you can trim off part or all of the roots as appropriate.
3. Mix carbendazim with water in the proper ratio, soak the trimmed succulent for about 30 seconds, then place it in a cool, ventilated spot to dry.
4. Add a few drops of nutrient solution to the hydroponic bottle; you do not need too much, because hydroponic succulents need their water changed in the first few days.
5. Place the succulent on the hydroponic bottle, with the roots about 0.5cm above the water surface, otherwise they will easily rot.
6. After about 7 days, the hydroponic succulent will have grown roots!

How do you care for hydroponic succulents?
1. Ensure ventilation
Hydroponic succulents need to be placed in a well-ventilated environment; only this way can root rot be avoided.
2. Apply nutrient solution regularly
The nutrient content in water is very low. To help the succulents grow healthily, you need to apply nutrient solution once every half month.
3. Keep them in a diffused-light environment
Hydroponic succulents have weak root systems to begin with. If placed in a strong-light environment, they recover rather slowly after sunburn.
If you are worried that your succulents cannot make it through summer,
you can try hydroponics to get through summer~
