Lately Huahua has introduced lots of flowers that love full sun, like portulaca and pennywort... Quite a few flower lovers asked Huahua, what should they do if their home doesn't have a balcony with good light? Today Huahua recommends a few flowers that don't need direct light and can still grow into huge cascades!

Pothos cascade

Pothos (Epipremnum aureum) is fairly shade-tolerant, and its ability to climb walls is no small matter either. Put it in a spot with bright indirect light, and as long as you care for it well, one living room won't be enough room for it to climb!

Grow pothos this way and it grows 1 m in half a month!

1. Pothos likes a humid environment. Spray the leaves once every morning and once in the evening; you can add a little aspirin solution to the water. Once it has drunk its fill, the pothos will grow like mad and cover the wall in a few months.

2. If you want pothos to shoot up fast, fertilizer is naturally indispensable. You can't fertilize heavily in summer, but flower lovers can bury a few granules of compound fertilizer or slow-release fertilizer in the pothos pot, and the pothos will definitely grow like crazy and won't stop!

Asparagus fern cascade

Asparagus fern (Asparagus setaceus) is the plant that dislikes full sun the most; the less direct light there is, the more vigorously it grows!

Grow asparagus fern this way and it will shoot up nonstop!

1. Dry air causes asparagus fern leaves to turn yellow and leaf tips to dry up, so when there's a stretch of hot weather and the air is fairly dry, spray the asparagus fern with water more often, or place a basin of clean water beside it.

2. If you want asparagus fern to shoot up fast, it must have a well-ventilated environment. If ventilation isn't adequate, asparagus fern easily gets root rot, which makes the leaves turn yellow and wither.

Hoya cascade

Hoya's (Hoya carnosa) wall-climbing ability is nothing short of formidable. Even without direct light, simply string up a rope and build a frame, and hoya will climb right along it!

Grow hoya this way and big flower balls will cover the wall!

1. Hoya likes loose, fertile, slightly acidic soil. Flower lovers can mix peat soil, coarse sand and vermiculite into a nutrient soil, then add some bone meal as a base fertilizer.

2. Hoya has fleshy roots, so don't water too frequently. In summer, watering once a week is enough; you can add a few drops of white vinegar to the water. When the air is very dry, spray the hoya with a bit more water.

Ivy cascade

Ivy (Hedera helix) is an especially popular foliage plant. Placed indoors without direct sunlight, the lush green ivy can still grow very vigorously, casually growing into a "big curtain" for you to see!

Grow ivy this way and it grows into a big cascade in 3 months!

1. Ivy really loves having its leaves sprayed with water. Regular spraying not only keeps its leaves glossy at all times, but also gives it a touch of coolness in the hot, dry summer, so it grows more vigorously.

2. Older ivy should be pruned regularly; cut off dead branches, weak branches and aged stems, so that it has the strength to keep shooting up vigorously.

Madeira vine cascade

Madeira vine (Anredera cordifolia) is a climbing vegetable that is a treasure from top to bottom. Most importantly, even placed in a dark room without light, it can still grow vigorously nonstop!

Grow Madeira vine this way and it grows even without sun!

1. Madeira vine has a particularly strong demand for water, especially in the hot summer. To keep the soil moist, it's best to water once a day.

2. Madeira vine grows at an astonishing rate. After it reaches a certain height, it's best to build a flower frame for it or use string to guide it, otherwise it will easily spread all over the ground.

Inch plant cascade

Inch plant (Tradescantia zebrina) fears scorching sun the most; it actually grows better in a damp, shady environment. Put a pot of inch plant on top of the fridge, and it's like wearing a gorgeous purple floral garment.

Grow inch plant this way and it grows into a purple curtain in no time!

1. Inch plant has especially high humidity requirements. Once the air is dry and humidity is too low, the leaf tips of the inch plant will dry up, so you must regularly spray water around it to keep it moist.

2. Fertilizing inch plant in summer easily burns the roots, but you can spray some monopotassium phosphate on the leaves, which will make the inch plant's leaves even glossier and thicker.

String of pearls

String of pearls (Senecio rowleyanus) loves a spot with bright indirect light the most. Hang a pot by the window, and in a few months it will grow into an emerald-green curtain of pearls!

Grow string of pearls this way and the little beads will keep bursting out!

1. If you want the little beads of string of pearls to stay green and plump at all times, spray water more often. When spraying, you can add 1 granule of compound fertilizer to the water, dilute and shake it evenly before spraying.

2. String of pearls has very shallow roots, so you must control the amount of watering. Watering about once every 1-2 weeks is enough, or flower lovers can first weigh the pot in their hand before watering, and only water when it feels especially light, otherwise it easily gets root rot.

Lipstick plant cascade

Lipstick plant (Aeschynanthus radicans) likes a semi-shady environment with plenty of diffused light. Hang a pot in the living room or beside a windowsill, and in summer it will grow clusters upon clusters of "lipstick" flowers.

Grow lipstick plant this way and it bursts into bloom like crazy!

1. Lipstick plant likes slightly acidic soil. Flower lovers in the north can add a little ferrous sulfate to the water when watering to improve the soil, so the lipstick plant will grow vigorously.

2. Lipstick plant likes a fairly moist soil environment, but it also easily gets root rot, so be sure to pay attention to ventilation in summer.

Do you have any of these shade-tolerant cascading flowers at home too?
