As people's living standards rise day by day, they also start to place more and more importance on quality of life. Many families choose to keep a few pots of green plants and flowers to decorate their homes, and they can also purify the air. Generally, novice flower lovers will directly choose to buy a few pots at the flower market, but then the problem appears: sometimes the flowers bought from the flower market always die in less than a month. After looking into it, Huahua learned that the flower market actually has so many "tricks."

In the flower market, foam boards are stuffed into the flower pots. Although sometimes stuffing in foam boards can help with drainage and aeration, stuffing in too much is not only useless but also harms the plants, because vendors also have to pay out of their own pockets for the potting soil for the flower pots, so many unscrupulous vendors stuff in foam to increase the weight. If it is not taken out in time after getting home, then as time goes on, the plant will not be able to get enough nutrients, and the flower will lose its life.

Next, the flower vendors like to spray brightening agents on green leafy plants, because this can make the leaves look glossy and shiny, making people think the flower is in very good condition. In fact, as long as you carefully touch it with your hand, you will find that the leaves are sticky, just like they have been waxed. Spraying this brightening agent on them will affect the plant's photosynthesis and respiration, so of course they cannot survive.

Of course, sometimes the vendors have not done anything sneaky, but after buying the flowers and taking them home, they still cannot be kept for more than a few days. That is because the flower market adjusts the temperature and humidity appropriately according to the flowers, and conditions like these generally cannot be achieved at home, so some flowers can survive in the flower market but not after being taken home. In fact, sometimes there is no need to run to the market to buy flowers; taking cuttings from old flower branches is also a pretty good choice.

Plants like pothos and spider plant are green plants that are relatively easy to propagate by cuttings, and they are very suitable for beginners to handle. For pothos, you can wait until the vines grow long, then cut off a section and either grow it directly in water or find a flower pot and plant it in soil. However, pothos cannot be exposed to strong direct sunlight, so try to move it to a place with scattered light and good ventilation. Grown this way, it can fill the pot in less than a month.

If you want to take cuttings of some colorful flowers, moss rose is a good choice. Moss rose can be placed directly on a balcony for care, because it has a relatively high demand for light. For moss rose cuttings, choose a branch of about 10cm, and after the cut end has dried, it can be inserted directly into the soil. Water it every day and provide ventilation, and it will quickly take root and survive.

If you are a busy office worker with no spare time to take cuttings, remember that flowers bought from the market must be repotted. After repotting and then caring for them carefully, the chance of survival will be very high. Huahua did not know before that there could be so many tricks in the flower market. If flower lovers are going to buy new flower varieties, be sure to keep your eyes open and prevent yourselves from being cheated.
