A while ago, one plant really had its moment in the spotlight. Its name is Blue Star Polypody (Phlebodium aureum 'Blue Star'), a beautiful foliage plant. It is a fern, and it was precisely because of its unique geometrically streamlined leaf shape, paired with its grayish blue-green color, that it became so sought after.

One or two years ago, this plant was very expensive, because it could only be bought as imported fresh cut flowers, and once you brought it home you could only keep it in water, so very precious. But there is good news: potted Blue Star Polypody has now been introduced, so everyone no longer has to go through the hassle of importing it! So how should this internet-famous fern be cared for after you buy it?

1. Soil

Blue Star Polypody is not all that strict about soil. It is best to choose a soil that holds water and has a relatively high tolerance.

2. Sunlight and fertilizer selection

It likes warm, humid environments. Scattered, soft natural light shining on it is enough, and it does not need very rich fertilizer. It is a fairly easy plant to keep alive.

3. Placement

Since its requirements for sunlight are not very strong, windowsides in most homes can be used to grow the internet-famous fern. Placing it at a north-facing room's window, on the small tea table beside the sofa, or making it into a hanging basket hung from the ceiling, it can all survive.

Propagation method of the internet-famous fern: I once grew one myself, putting it directly in water, and within a few days I found that on its back, many spores had actually appeared. Ferns will grow spores in suitable environments, and this is exactly their method of propagation. Of course, if you are a friend with trypophobia, unless it is necessary, it is better not to look at the back of the internet-famous fern, so you do not get frightened!

Notes: Although the conditions for caring for the internet-famous fern are fairly easy, be very careful not to let the soil get too dry, and do not use light that is too intense. Occasionally, you should also give the internet-famous fern more ventilation.

For friends in the Northeast, the winter air tends to be a bit drier, so you can mist it with water more often on ordinary days to keep it moist. After all, it still likes warm, humid environments!

Before the internet-famous fern has successfully grown large fronds, its leaves appear as single-feathered fronds, looking very cute, and as it grows, the leaves will gradually turn blue and produce more lobes, finally becoming just like a large internet-famous fern! If you like it, go get a pot now!
