How to care for gardenia in autumn? These care points you need to know
1. Light
Gardenia cannot be exposed to scorching sun, nor can it be kept in full shade. Generally speaking, autumn light is not especially strong. But sometimes the light at noon is also very strong, so it should be properly shaded. At other times when the light is not strong, it can receive light. Just ensure the light intensity is around 60 percent.
2. Humidity
What is meant here is the humidity in the air. It cannot be lower than 70 percent, otherwise the plant's growth will have problems. In addition to spraying the surface of the leaves, the ground can also be sprayed.
3. Fertilizer
There are many types of fertilizer that can be used, as long as they have been fermented. For example, soybean cake, peanut butter and the like. Pay attention to the comprehensiveness of the fertilizer types. If only nitrogen fertilizer is used, it is not easy for it to bloom; if there is too much phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer, it will also cause the flowers to drop.
4. Temperature
It is best to keep it in the range of 18 to 22 degrees. In autumn this generally meets the requirement, and if the temperature is occasionally too high, then adjust it.
5. Pruning
The branches tend to become dense, and then its nutrition supply is insufficient. Generally speaking, especially after flowering, pruning should be carried out once, cutting most of the branches shorter, which is beneficial for later growth.
6. Disease prevention and control
Chlorosis is prone to appear and will affect the formation of chlorophyll. Generally speaking, it is caused by iron deficiency. Ferrous sulfate water can be used as a supplement, applied about once every ten days or so.
