After bagging figs, one plant can bear 5 jin of fruit, too many to finish in 3 months
Propagate figs this way, and one plant will bear 5 jin of fruit!
1. Choose relatively robust branches for cuttings, and make sure the cuttings have buds that can grow. Cut the cuttings to about 15cm and soak them in water for 10 minutes.
2. While the cuttings are soaking in water, prepare the container for propagation. Find a slightly larger plastic bucket, scrub it clean, then line the bottom with a layer of wet towel, and spread a layer of wet paper towel on top.
3. Wrap the cuttings well with wet paper towels and place them in the plastic bucket.
4. Cover the opening of the plastic bucket with a layer of wet paper towel, then cover it with plastic wrap and seal it.
5. Place the plastic bucket with the cuttings in a lightless environment to force roots, or directly put a black plastic bag over the outside of the plastic bucket for shading.
6. After about 3 days, the cuttings will sprout white fine roots and a bunch of small white dots, and these small white dots will all grow into large white roots later.
7. Plant the cuttings that have successfully forced roots, and the propagation soil can be a mix of garden soil, coal cinder, and wood chips.
8. After about 1 week, the cuttings will grow large white roots, and after another two weeks, once the cuttings have grown leaves, you can consider potting them or planting them in the ground.
9. After transplanting, place the fig in a spot with sufficient light, and regularly prune leggy branches to increase fruit production.
10. By the second year, you will be able to harvest a full pot of figs!
Figs can also be eaten this way, be sure to save this!
