How to deal with a cactus with a rotten base? It's easy to save it and get it to root

If the base of your cactus has rotted, treat it with this method and it's easy to save it and get it to root
A gardening friend asked how to rescue a Tricho cactus (Echinopsis hybrid) with rotten roots. I should be fully confident in answering this question, because Xiaoqi is a big grower of cacti and runs into this often. You must do exactly as I say, and it will definitely survive.
The base of your cactus has already rotted very badly. You have already cut it off, but the cut surface clearly still shows reddish areas. If those areas are not cut away further, they will keep rotting if left there. Even if roots grow later, if you water slightly too much, the red area will rot again, because that area is the cambium. Its cambium has rotted, which proves it will keep rotting inward.
What you need to do now is continue cutting away part of it, cutting until there are no reddish areas left. If there is any red, it won't do. After cutting, evenly apply dry carbendazim to the wound. Don't use the cheap kinds of carbendazim; use an ordinary one, or you can use Guoguang. After applying it, put it in a cool, ventilated place and do not expose it to sun. Harsh sun will only cause the wound to shrivel inward. Let it dry for about one month; do not dry it for a shorter time. When you see that the carbendazim on the wound falls off as soon as you pick it up, and the skin of the wound has become hard and white, then we can root it.
Find a flower pot. Put loose, breathable soil in the pot; you can use half granular soil and half nutrient soil. Wet the soil, then place the flat cut surface of the cactus onto the soil and let it grow roots on its own. In about ten days, roots will be able to grow out. During this period, if the potting soil dries out, wet the potting soil from around the edges. When you see the roots have come out, just water it normally. During this period, be sure to give it some scattered light. Because after its wound has recovered and during the time it is about to send out roots, its top growth point will begin to grow. If it does not get light, its top will become leggy, and it will look very ugly later.
Handle it according to the method I described, and your cactus will definitely root and grow safely without rotting again. As for the flower buds already on the cactus itself, I suggest you just pinch them off directly and not keep them, because it is injured now, and flowering will only consume the nutrients of the body. Also, do not be afraid that drying it for too long is a problem. Even if this cactus is left to dry for half a year, its body will only partially shrivel and it will not die.
