Add 1 ingredient to asparagus fern in autumn and it grows like crazy; prune twice and it instantly becomes an elegant gentleman

Asparagus fern (Asparagus setaceus) has jointed stems and a refined, graceful bamboo-like posture, with an elegant plant shape and distinctive charm. Moreover, in feng shui, keeping a few pots at home symbolizes eternity and means reporting peace and safety. It is also very suitable for indoor care.
Autumn is cool, making it a very suitable season to get an asparagus fern; you can buy one online, or propagate by division. If buying online, it is best to choose one with a beautiful plant form, with the basal branches and leaves concentrated and the upper branches and leaves spreading out in an umbrella shape. If you already have one at home, division propagation is also a good choice.
This is a division recently done by a flower friend. His asparagus fern has probably been grown for 2 years, and many healthy new asparagus fern plants have sprouted from the roots. It is growing quite well, with emerald green leaves and basically no yellow leaves. It is just that pruning has been a bit lazy, so the shape is not that attractive.
1. The first step of division is to take the mother plant out of the pot; you can use a root lifter. Then gently pat off the original soil, and be sure to protect the root system of the asparagus fern, trying not to damage the roots. After removing the soil, you can rinse the root system once with clean water, which makes it convenient to see all the roots clearly and makes it easier to make the cut.
2. The second step is to observe the roots. At this time you will find many division nodes. Find the right position, pinch it with your hand, and with one cut you can divide it into 2 halves. To ensure the survival rate of the new plants, this flower friend divided it into 2 halves, and the root system is also fairly abundant. If you are more experienced in caring for asparagus fern, you can divide it into more parts; keeping 3-4 plants per piece is also fine, depending on personal needs.
3. After dividing, choose a suitable flowerpot. I personally like to use a purple clay pot, as it feels more in tune with the elegance of the asparagus fern. For the soil mix, you can use a mixture of garden soil, leaf mold and river sand soil. Place the division in the center and upright, and add soil until it is 2cm from the rim of the pot. After planting, water with settling water, which means watering thoroughly, then place it in semi-shade for care. It will probably take about half a month to establish.
Autumn is a great time to get an asparagus fern; it is very easy to keep alive, so if you are tempted, take action quickly!
