Start of Autumn has arrived, and the hot summer is almost over. As soon as the weather turned cool, Huahua started wondering what kind of plant would be good to grow in autumn. After several hours of thinking it over again and again, the final choice landed on cherry tomatoes! Cherry tomatoes are also called cherry tomatoes; they are small and delicate, making them the perfect choice for growing at home! Not only can you experience the joy of planting, but you can also experience the joy of harvesting - killing two birds with one stone.

So Huahua looked through a lot of information and summed up several points to pay attention to when growing cherry tomatoes, to share with everyone, so that friends who want to grow cherry tomatoes just like Huahua can have something to refer to!

Preparation work

Before planting cherry tomatoes, note that if the soil is taken from downstairs or from a field, remember to sift the soil and remove large clumpy soil blocks or gravel. The fertilizer put into the soil must be fermented and fully decomposed organic fertilizer. If it is chemical fertilizer, it will also be unhealthy for us to eat.

Seedling raising and germination

Before planting, cherry tomato seeds need to go through two processes: seedling raising and germination. When raising seedlings, soak the cherry tomatoes in warm water at 55 degrees for 15-20 minutes, stirring constantly. When the water cools to around 28 degrees, soak the seeds in it for 12 to 24 hours, changing the water once or twice during this time. When germinating, drain the seeds from the water, put them in a wet towel, and keep the environment around the towel at 28-30°C, washing it once a day; they can sprout in one to two days.

Planting

The day before, water the soil thoroughly, place the germinated cherry tomato seeds into small holes already dug about 1 cm deep, and then cover with a layer of loose soil, not too thick - 0.5 to 1 cm is enough. Before the cherry tomato seedlings emerge, the soil must be kept moist to give the seedlings a better growing environment. When the tomato seedlings break through the soil and the leaves grow to five or six leaves, watering should follow the principle of "water when dry, stop when wet."

Transplanting

Once the number of leaves increases, they can be transplanted. What you need to pay attention to is moving the small soil mound from the small flowerpot together into the large flowerpot, so that while ensuring the cherry tomatoes survive, they can also grow better.

Fruiting

After the plant blooms, water thoroughly and apply additional fertilizer. After that, water and fertilize every seven days, and you can also use a small hook to loosen the soil. When the plant grows taller, at about 40 cm or so, you can make a support for the cherry tomatoes so the cherry tomato plant does not grow crooked.

It takes about ninety days for cherry tomatoes to go from growth to fruiting. Although it is a bit harder during these ninety days, after you personally taste the cherry tomato fruit, I believe you will feel it was all worth it!
