Turn discarded plastic bottles into an automatic sprinkler with just a hose and tape

Plastic bottles can be turned into flower pots, hanging planters and more, and they can also become a really great automatic sprinkler. It can spray water on the flowers and plants in your yard, and can even be used to water the lawn, saving you the money of buying an automatic sprinkler.
Before making a plastic bottle sprinkler, you need to prepare enough materials: get a few 2-liter plastic bottles, some tape, a garden hose, a screwdriver, and some necessary tools, including sharp scissors and pliers.
Steps for making a garden automatic sprinkler:
1. Clean the bottles
Find some 2-liter plastic bottles and wash them thoroughly. You can pour in a little baking soda, then add some clean water, put the cap on, shake hard, and then rinse them a few times with clean water. You do not even need to dry the plastic bottles.
2. Drill holes in the plastic bottles
After cleaning the plastic bottles, the next step is to drill holes in them. You can use a screwdriver or a heated iron rod or similar tool to drill 12 to 14 small holes directly in the plastic bottles. These small holes should be drilled evenly so that water can spray out of the plastic bottles.
3. Connect the hose
Once the holes are drilled, the plastic bottles can be connected with the hose, and then you need to secure them completely with electrical tape. Keep the seal tight to prevent water from leaking out.
If you do not have a connector of the right size, prepare some hot glue and simply apply hot glue directly at the joint between the plastic bottle and the hose, so they can be joined completely and tightly.
Then connect the other end of the hose to the faucet. If you want a more advanced sprinkler, you can install an automatic timer at the connection between the hose and the faucet, so you can control them to spray water at regular intervals. Finally, you can place the plastic bottles on the ground or hang them in a relatively high place, and the plastic bottles will then be able to spray water automatically.
