How to grow potted roses? Pay attention to these to get more blooms

If you want roses to grow well, planting them in the ground is the best way. Let me teach everyone a method that works for potted roses too
If you want roses to grow well, planting them in the ground is the best way, but not every flower lover has land, especially balcony gardeners in the city, where every inch of land is precious! Being able to place a few large flower pots to grow flowers is already a very happy thing. Therefore, for potted roses, the first thing is choosing varieties, the second is the soil mix ratio and the choice of flower pots, and the last is maintenance issues such as the growing environment, pest and disease management, and pruning.
If you grow large roses in pots, for example potted Pink Dragon, not only will they grow poorly, they also will not bloom much. You should know that large roses generally only bloom profusely in spring, and in other seasons they only produce a few scattered blooms. Therefore, for potted roses I suggest focusing on shrubs and miniature roses. For example, Canary and Juicy Balcony are quite good roses, with compact plant shape and frequent blooming. They are all very good potted rose varieties. If you have years of rose growing experience, you will know how important what I am saying is.
Potted growing is not the same as ground planting. Because it has the support of the earth, ground planting is much easier to manage. Potted growing has limited space, and if you are not careful, water can accumulate and suffocate the roots. Therefore, both the growing medium and the flower pot need to be quite carefully chosen. For the medium mix, loose and breathable is best. In this way, there are many gaps inside the pot medium, which not only helps drainage, but the roots also especially like to grow into the gaps. Then the entire root ball in the pot will be filled with roots. If the pot soil is too dense, the roots will not like to grow into the interior of the root ball, so the utilization rate of the pot space is much lower. Next, the choice of flower pot is also very important. Try to choose ceramic pots, root-control pots, and similar options, which have good drainage and are not prone to water accumulation. If you use porcelain pots to grow flowers, because porcelain pot walls have poor breathability and the drainage holes are small, it is better to add a layer of coal cinders at the bottom of the pot as a drainage layer, so water does not accumulate easily.
Roses like a ventilated, sunny environment and do not like dry, unventilated environments. Therefore, growing roses indoors is extremely difficult. It is best to place them outdoors or outside a window. A south-facing or east-facing balcony is good. Roses are prone to powdery mildew in spring, black spot in summer, and downy mildew in autumn. Therefore, prevention needs to be carried out according to different stages, otherwise they easily get sick and this affects their ornamental value. Rose pruning is divided into light pruning and heavy pruning. Generally, for climbing roses, light pruning is recommended. For shrub roses, light pruning can be done during the growing season, and heavy pruning can be done during the dormant season.
