One day I went to a good friend's house. As soon as I entered his gate, I saw his yard covered in a natural "carpet." I looked closer and realized it was flowers, not the carpets we normally use at home. So today I'll introduce to you which plants can reproduce quickly and fill our yards in no time.

Pennywort (Hydrocotyle vulgaris). This plant has extremely strong growth ability and can adapt to many harsh environments, such as beside ditches or roadsides, and so on. Anywhere water can be supplied, pennywort can basically cover the place as a green "carpet." So if we grow pennywort at home with this kind of care, it can grow into a large patch in no time. Light is certainly something plants cannot do without. A spot with good light will definitely make pennywort leaves grow even more emerald green.

If it grows in an environment with poor light, it's not that it can't grow, it's just that the pennywort that grows will be rather yellow, and the leaves will be relatively flat and small. So if we want the pennywort at home to grow well and spread into a large patch of grass, it's best to choose a spot with good light for planting. As for watering, we won't go into detail. Outdoors, besides rainwater replenishing moisture for pennywort, in summer it's best to water it manually, about once a day, and if it rains we don't need to water.

Moss rose (Portulaca grandiflora). As children, we surely often saw moss rose by the roadside. Once summer came, almost the whole road was covered with them, in all colors. So moss rose is also something we can grow at home to cover our yard. Moss rose definitely has a certain preference for the sun; the better the sunlight, the better it will grow. Moss rose has fairly high water requirements, needing watering almost every day, though watering once every two days is best. So if we want our yard to become colorful, it's best to plant moss rose.

Coral bells (Heuchera). Its leaves are the key to attracting us, and the leaf colors of coral bells are very numerous. We can even call it a "palette." Such beautiful leaves in our yard are so lovely. When growing coral bells, be sure to pay attention to light. It is very afraid of the scorching summer sun, especially the midday sun. It's best to build a shade structure for coral bells so sunlight comes in scattered. Coral bells is relatively afraid of waterlogging, so don't overwater. Even in the hot summer, we water once a week.

Shiba sakura (Phlox subulata) is a clump-forming plant. As long as we scatter it casually, a large patch will grow in a few months, and the colors are very beautiful. It will turn our yard into a sea of flowers.

Shiba sakura has no particular requirements for light, and it is a relatively heat-tolerant plant, so in summer we shouldn't let it grow in an environment of several degrees of high temperature; basically we don't need to take any shade or misting measures.
