We have always liked using a kind of crop to wash dishes and chopsticks, and that is old loofah. Some people forget to pick them, and gradually they just become old loofah. Actually, we should not look down on these old loofahs, their uses are not just as simple as washing. Using them to grow flowers is still very useful, so fellow flower growers, if we have loofah growing at home, when we cannot finish eating them we can let them grow old before picking them, and then use them as a miraculous tool for growing flowers.

With the old loofah we just picked, the first thing we do is remove the seeds inside. Then cut the old loofah into small sections of about 5 cm. When we use flower pots to grow flowers, do not rush to put the soil in first; we first line the bottom of the flower pot with the old loofah. What is the benefit of this? It can make our soil more breathable and better at draining water. With this miraculous tool, we no longer need to worry that the plants we grow will have root rot. Moreover, old loofah also has certain nutrients, and it will not rot when placed at the bottom.

Besides old loofah, our dishwashing sponge can also be used in this way, because the main manufacturing ingredient of dishwashing sponge is sponge. When we repot plants, we can directly throw this piece of stuff into the bottom of the new pot. Then we just spread the previously prepared soil on top. The dishwashing sponge used this way plays no small role. When we water the plants, it is inevitable that we may overwater, so as long as we have a dishwashing sponge placed underneath, it can absorb the excess water left after our plants take up what they need. In this way, it will not cause waterlogging in our soil, and the plants will not develop root rot.

Gourd pieces: if we grow mature gourds at home, we can first dig out the seeds inside the gourd, and then chop the gourd into small pieces. Before growing plants, place a few pieces of broken gourd at the bottom of the flower pot, and then we can spread nutrient soil to grow the plants. Doing this is also to make the soil's breathability and drainage capacity more complete. The plants grown this way will certainly grow relatively robustly, and this is also a method that will not let the plant roots be damaged.

When we grow plants, we certainly use some small stones as a lining. Small stones can be seen everywhere; by the river or at some construction sites we can pick up many stones to bring home. These stones can also be used to line the bottom of the soil, but we should put the stones we picked up in clean water and soak them for a few days, to wash away some of the dirt on the stones.

Then we take them out and let the sun dry them. After they are dried, they can be used to line the bottom. When we lay them, we only need to lay one layer, or at most two layers. Laying too many will make the flower pot too heavy, and then it will not be easy for us to move it. Lining with stones is also a good way to prevent plant root rot.

Fruit shells: when we are out having fun, we can also look for some shelled fruit trees, or look for cypress trees. Under their trees, pick up some dry fruit shells that have fallen on the ground and have also cracked open. If they are the kind that has rotted until black, that is even more perfect. After we pick them up and bring them home, the first thing is still to let the sun dry them, drying them for two or three days. If we want to be able to use them faster, we can directly put these fruit shells in the microwave to heat and sterilize them, for about 5 minutes. Then these sterilized fruit shells can be directly placed at the bottom of the pot to grow plants.

We also should not throw away the fruit shells we cannot finish eating at home, such as peanut shells and walnut shells; save them. Then soak them in salt water, and let the sun naturally dry them, and they can also be used to grow plants. There are still many methods; I will not introduce them to everyone one by one.
