How do you do jasmine cuttings in water? A detailed method for you

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
For water-propagating jasmine cuttings, prepare a transparent bottle and add 2-3 cm of clean water, cut a branch about 7-9 cm long and insert it into the water. It is recommended to do the cuttings from April to June, and roots and sprouts will appear in about 2-3 weeks. After rooting, transplant them to water culture. During normal care, you can add an appropriate amount of nutrient solution to help them grow better.

1. Prepare the equipment

Prepare a transparent bottle, which can be a soda bottle or a glass bottle. Wash the bottle clean and add 2-3 cm of clean water. The bottle must be transparent so that the jasmine branches can receive light.

2. Trim the branches

Cut branches about 7-9 cm long; those that have already flowered are best. Remove the leaves at the very bottom and keep only 2-4 leaves at the top. The fewer leaves there are, the better the branch can meet its nutrient needs while rooting.

3. Insert the cuttings into water

Cuttings can be taken at any time, but it is more recommended from April to June, because this is the most suitable time for water-propagating plant cuttings. If cared for properly, they will root and sprout in 2-3 weeks. Always be careful to control the water amount: it should be neither too much nor too little.

4. Transfer to water culture

Once the branches have rooted, they can be transplanted to water culture. Prepare a suitable flowerpot and submerge about 2/3 of the root depth in water, leaving the rest of the roots in the air for breathing. During normal care, you can add an appropriate amount of nutrient solution to help them grow better.
