What to Do When a Money Tree's Branches Become Soft? Causes and Solutions
1. Cut off the rotten roots
Once you notice its branches have become soft, first check whether it has root rot, because during the plant's growth process, if it is not cared for properly, it is very easy for it to contract this disease. If it has indeed contracted this disease, it is actually quite easy to solve. First, pull its roots out of the soil and check the extent of the rot. If it is severe, all of these rotten roots need to be cut off to prevent infection of other parts.
2. Sprinkle on a medicinal solution
Many people may feel that after cutting off the rotten roots it should immediately recover, but that is not the case. We also need to spray it with a medicinal solution and wash the trimmed roots with water. If an antiviral medication was previously applied to the roots, the potting soil also needs to be replaced and it should be replanted, with a solution such as Ridomil sprayed once a week.
3. Reduce watering
We said above that its branches becoming soft is very likely caused by root rot, but the cause of this disease is overwatering. So after the roots have been treated, pay attention to routine care, reduce watering as much as possible, and prevent water from accumulating in the pot, which would make the root rot even worse.
4. Bask in the sun
After all the above steps are completed, we move it out into the sun to bask for a while, but note that it must not be strong light; weak sunlight is enough. If it is accidentally placed in strong light, the branches becoming soft will worsen, and other problems may even appear.
