How to Grow Pothos in Water? Detailed Guide to Care Methods and Precautions
1. Changing the Water
Water-grown pothos should have its water changed every two to three days, and the choice of water quality is very important; clean tap water or purified water should be used. Observe it often; once it grows new roots, you can add nutrient solution at the same time as changing the water.
2. Misting
When caring for pothos, keep the leaves moist at all times. Besides changing the water regularly, mist frequently as well; this keeps the leaves clean and also benefits its growth.
3. Adding Nutrient Solution
Applying an appropriate amount of nutrient solution will make it grow more robust. You can buy a dedicated nutrient solution on the market, or make your own. Adding nutrient solution is generally done when changing the water, and usually just 2-3 drops are applied.
4. Temperature
When caring for water-grown pothos, it is best to give it a growing environment of 20°C, without too great a temperature difference, and when placing it, do not put it too close to a radiator or stove. In addition, during care, let it receive light appropriately; it can be exposed to sunlight 2 times a week.
5. Precautions
Water-grown pothos should have its roots pruned appropriately. After discovering that the roots have begun to rot, cut them off with sterilized scissors to avoid affecting the plant's growth.
