To grow Alocasia macrorrhizos in water, you first need to take it out of the pot, cut off all the soil-grown roots and some of the leaves, then wash and disinfect it. After that, place it in the very center of the hydroponic container, fill in with stones, and finally pour some water into the container. Normally, it needs to be kept in a semi-shaded environment with relatively high humidity and temperatures above 18°C.

I. Hydroponic method

1. Preparation beforehand: Before growing Alocasia macrorrhizos in water, you need to prepare a hydroponic container, scissors, disinfectant, stones and other items.

2. Handling the plant: First take the Alocasia macrorrhizos out of the pot, then use scissors to trim its roots, stems and leaves, cutting off all the rotted parts and the blackened, unhealthy parts. In addition, you also need to cut off all the soil-grown roots and some of the leaves, keeping only 2-3 leaves.

3. Washing the plant: After trimming, wash the entire plant clean with clear water; no soil may remain on it. After washing, it needs to be disinfected to prevent bacteria from remaining on the plant.

4. Potting it up: First wash the stones clean with water and set them aside. Then place the plant in the very center of the container, fill in with stones, and then press it firm with your hands.

5. Pouring in water: Use a watering can to pour water into the container from all around. Be careful not to let the water completely submerge the plant's roots.

II. Care method

1. Temperature: It needs relatively warm temperature conditions; normally it needs to be kept above 18°C.

2. Light: It likes shade; normally it needs to be placed in a spot with light but not strong light for care.

3. Misting: It likes moisture; when the air is relatively dry, you need to spray some water mist around it to raise the air humidity.

4. Changing the water: Change the water once a month to keep the water clean, with no debris in the water.
