China's orchid culture has a long history. It symbolizes both purity and nobility, and since ancient times it has been the beloved subject of scholars and poets through the ages, truly deserving the saying, "One orchid plant, a thousand paintings; one orchid stem, ten thousand poems."

People call the friendship between gentlemen a "lan friendship," call exceptionally well-written essays "lan compositions," and even call friends who are helpful to others "lan friends." All of this is enough to show how much people love orchids.
