Reasons Why Jasmine Does Not Bloom and How to Fix It

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
There are many reasons why jasmine does not bloom: if it is caused by insufficient light, it needs to receive plenty of sunlight, and it can usually be kept on a south-facing balcony. If it is caused by a lack of pruning, the overly dense branches need to be cut off to ensure there are enough nutrients for blooming. If it is caused by a lack of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, apply less nitrogen fertilizer and more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer.

1. Insufficient Light

Cause: Jasmine loves sunlight very much. If it is grown in a dark environment during care, its leaves will become leggy and it will be very difficult for it to bloom.

Solution: It should receive plenty of sunlight, and it should usually be kept in a place with light. Indoors, it can be placed on a south-facing windowsill or balcony; only with sufficient light will it bloom.

2. No Pruning

Cause: Jasmine grows very quickly. If its branches and leaves are not pruned in time, they will grow very luxuriantly, and too many branches and leaves will absorb most of the nutrients, resulting in insufficient nutrients for blooming.

Solution: During care, promptly cut off the overly dense branches so that it has enough nutrients to bloom.

3. Lack of Phosphorus and Potassium Fertilizer

Cause: If too much nitrogen fertilizer is usually applied, the plant will grow only leaves and not bloom. Especially in the early stage of blooming, too much nitrogen fertilizer must not be applied.

Solution: Control the amount of nitrogen fertilizer, and apply more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, which helps it bloom better. Fertilization should usually be reasonably balanced, with light fertilizer applied frequently. When fertilizing, fermented rice washing water can be used.
