What to Do When a Money Tree Branch Breaks? Teach You the Correct Remedial Method

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
Many people accidentally break a branch of their money tree (Pachira aquatica) while caring for it. In this case, you should first prune it to keep an attractive shape. Specifically, cut off the long branches and weak branches, and leave 3 to 4 growth points on each branch; then do the post-pruning care work, such as light, watering and fertilizing.

1. Pruning

When you find that its branch has broken, you should first prune it to make its shape attractive and improve its ornamental effect. When pruning, cut off all the long branches, leave 3 to 4 growth points on the good branches, or leave about 10 cm, and cut off all the other branches. When cutting, note that if you find diseased or weak branches, cut them off from the base as well, because their sprouting ability is really too weak, and they will also compete with other good branches for nutrients, so they must never be left.

2. Care After Pruning

1. Light

After pruning, do not think that is all. The later care work is also very important. For example, do not let it get rained on, and do not spray it with water, to prevent root rot. Then place it in a bright place or under tree shade, so that it can be protected from strong light without lacking light.

2. Watering

At this time, watering should be controlled, because the leaves have already stopped transpiring, so they need very little water. If you water too much, the roots will rot, thus affecting recovery after pruning.

3. Fertilizing

When the pruned branches have not yet sprouted small buds, apply a compound fertilizer with high nitrogen content 1 to 2 times. And when watering, add a little fungicide to it to prevent root rot. The fungicide can be prepared carbendazim powder. Then after about a month, these small branches can grow to 5 cm tall, and after two months they can be enjoyed again.
