Little tricks to keep bougainvillea blooming continuously, with vigorous branches and flowers all over the tree

Bougainvillea is also called purple triangle, purple yalan, or leaf flower. It likes a sunny environment, has strong adaptability, and its flowers are rich and colorful, with especially many blooms and a long flowering period. It can be planted on indoor balconies or grown in outdoor courtyards. But some flower lovers' bougainvillea either grows leggy, or only grows leaves without blooming.
If you want bougainvillea to bloom a lot, not grow leggy, and grow vigorously, just do these few things well:
Keep sufficient sunlight. Because bougainvillea is a plant and flower that is very tolerant of sun exposure, no matter spring, summer, autumn, or winter, it needs sufficient sunlight. If the light is insufficient, the branches will easily grow leggy, and it will only grow leaves without blooming or bloom little. The more often it basks in the sun, the more flower buds will emerge, and the longer the flowering period will be.
So potted bougainvillea at home must be placed in the sunniest spot, keeping at least more than three hours of sunlight every day.
Control water in time. Bougainvillea is a plant from the south, and it is especially drought-tolerant. During care, sometimes even if the leaves suddenly all fall off because of drought and lack of water, it will suddenly produce especially many stunning flowers. So you cannot keep watering continuously, otherwise even if there is sufficient sunlight and it grows many branches and leaves, it still will not bloom.
Be a bit lazy, occasionally let it go dry for a few days, control the water, and even if the leaves wilt a little, let it recover for two days, then water it thoroughly once again. This encourages it to produce brilliant flowers.
Apply fertilizer at any time. With sufficient light and water control done, without nutrients and fertilizer it will still be hard to bloom. So you need to apply fertilizer in time to store energy for blooming. Do not give it nitrogen fertilizer; phosphorus fertilizer is best.
You can use the most ordinary fertilizer from flower shops and flower-and-bird markets, monopotassium phosphate, and spray the bougainvillea once every ten days to half a month. After spraying a few times, you can see flower buds growing out.
Once you know these three tricks and follow this method, generally it can produce many flowers, blooming continuously, very beautiful.
