After pruning Bougainvillea at the start of autumn, it bursts into a huge ball of flowers in golden October for National Day

The start of autumn has already passed a few days. What has your "garden" been up to? After enduring the scorching summer, are all your flowers at home still doing well? As autumn arrives, doing these 3 things well can make our garden stunningly beautiful in golden October. Come and see quickly how we should do it.
Take Bougainvillea for example. The few days around the start of autumn are the perfect time for a major tidy-up. Three cuts at the start of autumn, flower balls for National Day - this is really no exaggeration. Some gardening friends say, then how should I prune my bougainvillea? I don't know where to start. When pruning Bougainvillea, just remember to thin it out from the outside in.
1. On the outside: if your Bougainvillea is growing vigorously, it will produce many leggy branches. Apart from the main trunk branches, those leggy long branches should be cut off without hesitation; then check whether there are any weak branches, which should also be pruned. These weak branches will not bloom, they only compete with the main branches for nutrients and affect flowering.
On the inside, the inner canopy branches need to be thinned out. Bougainvillea grows quite tall, and the branches inside also have enough vitality to grow strongly, called "inner canopy branches". But these branches cannot get sunlight, cannot bloom normally, and only compete with the main branches for nutrients, so they must be thinned out. Moreover, broken branches and diseased branches are also more common in there, and should be cleared out as well.
2. Supplement nutrition. Pruning Bougainvillea is all about removing those branches that steal nutrients. After pruning, we need to give the bougainvillea a nutrient boost. At this time, use some organic nutrient solution that promotes flowering, supplementing phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. When using, take 1ml of the concentrate and dilute it with water at more than 500 times, then use it to evenly water the soil. If absorption is good, fertilize once every 10 days; if absorption is not so good, fertilize once every 15 days. When the main branches grow well, the flowering will be explosive.
3. Control water. Everyone says this year's weather is very abnormal. In summer it kept raining, and after the start of autumn the weather is dry and hot again - even the Arctic can be dozens of degrees above zero. No matter what, we still can't be careless with our flowers. At this stage, Bougainvillea needs water control, keeping it in a thirsty state to encourage more new buds. When you see the soil turn white and the leaves become slightly soft, then water it.
Bougainvillea is still relatively easy to grow. If planted in the ground with sufficient fertilizer, it will bloom all over a whole wall. For those of us growing it in pots on balconies, if we want to see flower balls, we can only put in a bit more effort.
