Growing orchids at home can be a headache for many people. No wonder many friends who love caring for orchids say that when it comes to growing orchids at home, there are so many methods that every household has its own book of orchid-growing wisdom. In fact, with today's indoor potted plants, choosing the orchid variety you like and becoming familiar with its growth habits and the basic potting mix ratio is what really matters most in orchid growing.

As for the day-to-day care of orchids, mastering just the most basic points is enough. For example, for city households growing orchids today, watering is the most important thing; too much or too little watering will affect the orchid's growth and blooming. From my own experience growing orchids, I believe that as long as you grasp the most basic limits for watering orchids, you can use cheap things from around the house to let orchids drink their fill while also fertilizing them. You could say you can easily grow them until they burst out of the pot!

These 4 things at home can be found in every household. The first is the baking soda used at home. Take one small spoonful and mix it with an appropriate amount of clean water, then water and drench the pot during the orchid's sprouting stage or the two months before its blooming stage. It is worth noting that when watering orchids with baking soda water, do not pour it into the heart of the orchid.

The second is the white vinegar used at home. Take two spoonfuls of white vinegar from home and mix it with an appropriate amount of clean water to water the orchid. In the early sprouting stage or early blooming stage, water the orchid 3 times a month; this both waters it and fertilizes it. Just be careful when watering the orchid not to let water accumulate, and keep drainage flowing freely.

The third is aspirin tablets. That is, crush aspirin tablets and mix them with an appropriate amount of clean water to water the orchid. But when using an aspirin water solution to water orchids, do not mix it too strong. Because an aspirin water solution also acts as a kind of orchid fertilizer, it is better to water several times than to make it too strong in one go, to avoid burning the heart.

The fourth is rice-washing water. When using rice-washing water to water orchids, you must be careful not to use it directly; the rice-washing water must be placed in a sealed plastic bottle to ferment for 5 days before being used to water orchids, otherwise it will cause the orchid's heart to burn and its roots to rot.

In the process of caring for orchids, watering is an extremely important part. As the saying goes, it is better to let an orchid die of thirst than to let it die of too much water. At the same time, you need to grasp the right timing for watering orchids, which is to insert a bamboo skewer along the edge of the pot and observe the moisture of the orchid pot's soil to determine when to water. Or use a special instrument for measuring soil moisture to judge. In this situation, do you, who love caring for orchids, know clearly about it?
