Don't Worry About Yellow Leaves on Your Pothos - Just Toss a Handful of Soybeans in the Pot and the Leaves Will Turn Glossy Green

Anyone who grows pothos knows that although it is easy to care for, it is also very prone to yellow leaves! There are many reasons why pothos turns yellow - sometimes it is overwatering, sometimes it is prolonged drought, and another very important one is lack of fertilizer!
Many plant lovers have a misconception when growing pothos - they think that because pothos is easy to care for, it will grow well without fertilizing it at all. This belief is actually wrong!
Let me tell you: when pothos has just been planted, it doesn't matter if you don't fertilize it, because the soil you planted it in already contains a certain amount of nutrients on its own. After you have grown it for a while and it has used up the nutrients that came with the potting soil, if you don't fertilize it at that point, its roots will have no nutrients left to absorb.
And once the roots can't absorb any nutrients, this pot of pothos will start having problems. The most obvious sign is that the leaves begin to turn yellow, then it will look more and more listless, and over time it will wither away until it looks a complete mess!
So if we want to grow pothos well, we still need to give it some fertilizer. If you really don't want to fertilize it, then let me teach you a little trick - we can just sprinkle a small handful of soybeans into the flower pot!
The specific method is: boil the soybeans, let them dry, and then simply bury them shallowly in the potting soil. This works because soybeans contain various nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, and these are exactly the nutrients that pothos needs!
But please note: although soybeans are great, don't sprinkle too many on your pothos. Depending on the size of the plant, a small handful is enough!
