In April, a new vegetable supermarket opened at the entrance. Passing by the flower stall, my daughter was immediately drawn to the plump and chubby green plants, colorful and crystal clear. The boss only knew that they were all called succulents. Just like that, the nameless succulents were brought home.
Looking at them now, they are still breathtakingly beautiful
As the succulents grew more and more numerous, the small vegetable rack at home was washed clean and used as a flower rack
Give them a little wooden home
I really wanted to know what these succulents were, but no matter how I searched, I could not find their names.
Then, some of the succulents started to have scorched leaves, and the severe ones had already gone bald. Watching such beautiful little cuties about to be ruined in my own hands, I was anxious, heartbroken, and full of self-blame. I looked up all kinds of care knowledge on Baidu, but still could not save them.
At that time, someone replied on a plant app and told me these were chemically-induced variegated succulents. After searching on Baidu, I cursed the succulent seller in my heart. Later I thought, if not for these gorgeous colors, perhaps I would still have no connection with succulents.
By chance, I discovered that succulents could be bought on Taobao. Would these little lives, after traveling such a long distance to reach me, really not wither away? Holding a try-it-out attitude, I bought a few beginner succulents. Unexpectedly, when they arrived they were actually fresh, plump, and tender, so I confidently kept buying. In this way, I had my first pot of succulent arrangement.
In May, I came across an old article by Er Mu, the one about Tao Dan Mama. The pink, plump, and tender Peach Egg made me unable to stop myself, and the hand-bouquet Debbi was also desperately to my liking. Baidu, succulent forums, Taobao... In this way, I had my Debbi hand bouquet, Peach Egg arrangement, and Lilac arrangement.
Later I learned that among the earliest succulents I bought, there were Peach Egg and Debbi, except that they had long since grown leggy beyond recognition
In the Debbi group, I met many succulent friends and masters. I was very lucky that before the real summer arrived, I absorbed the care experience of fellow succulent lovers. With their lessons as a warning, I was able to get through this summer safely.
It was also here that we encouraged each other and started the buy-buy-buy rhythm, falling into the infinite death loop of pots, soil, and succulents.
In mid-May, I officially fell into the pit...
By the end of July, the succulents had quickly filled the wooden table, three small tiered racks, and two small baskets. Looking at these more than one hundred pots of succulents, my burning little heart also cooled down. What exactly did I want? What I loved most was still Peach Egg.
So I set a strict rule for myself: when buying succulents, never add extra items just to meet an order threshold, and I would rather pay extra shipping. I reserved one small tiered rack specifically for Peach Egg. If I added other succulents, I would remove succulents from the other two racks to make space. After giving away nearly twenty pots, I truly felt so heartbroken that I completely controlled my hands and stopped buying randomly.
Do not forget the original intention, and one can reach the end. I hope the Peach Egg journey can go smoothly. Keep it up!
