Gardenia leaves turning yellow in summer and growing poorly? You are probably overlooking these few points

There are many reasons why gardenia leaves turn yellow: if it is caused by improper watering, you need to control the amount of water, there must be no standing water in the potting soil, and if you have watered too much, you need to take the plant out of the pot promptly and keep it in a cool place. If it is caused by temperatures that are too low, you need to keep it indoors in winter and do a good job of keeping it warm. If it is caused by unsuitable light, you need to provide shade when the sunlight is strong.
1. Improper watering
Cause: Watering the gardenia too much or too little will both affect the plant's normal growth. If the plant grows for a long time in an environment with standing water or one that is too dry, the roots cannot absorb nutrients and water normally, and the leaves will turn yellow as a result.
Solution: If it is short of water, just water it a little, and mist the leaves appropriately every day to keep it in a moist state without standing water. If there is standing water in the potting soil, take it out of the pot and keep it in a cool place, control the amount of water you give it normally, and take drainage measures promptly once standing water appears.
2. Adjust the temperature
Cause: If the temperature of the growing environment is too low, the plant will suffer cold damage, and its leaves will turn yellow as well.
Solution: When the temperature is relatively low, raise the temperature. In winter, keep it indoors as much as possible, and do not let cold wind blow directly on the plant. In addition, do a good job of keeping it warm on early spring nights as well.
3. Reasonable light
Cause: While caring for a gardenia, if you let it receive strong light for a long time, the leaves will be scorched and turn yellow. Conversely, growing in a dark environment for a long time will also cause the leaves to turn yellow and even drop off.
Solution: When the sunlight is strong in summer, do a good job of shading, do not let it be exposed to direct harsh sunlight, or keep it in a cool place. For normal care, you only need to ensure there is plenty of scattered light.
