Lucky bamboo (Dracaena sanderiana) is a foliage plant loved by many gardening enthusiasts; its stems are thick and upright, its form is delicate, its leaves are long and lance-shaped with a clearly visible midrib, and its foliage is deep green. It has very high ornamental value, and also carries the meaning of "flowers bloom bringing wealth, bamboo reports peace."

For lucky bamboo at home, most people choose hydroponics, which is simple and convenient and offers even higher ornamental value, but with too few roots, the growth is not particularly good, and this troubles some gardening enthusiasts. Today, Hua'er will introduce to everyone: add this one thing to hydroponic lucky bamboo, and big thick roots will grow like crazy, almost bursting the bottle!

Newly bought lucky bamboo should first be simply trimmed: cut off the leaves near the head, trim the head at a 45° slant to increase water absorption, then soak it in diluted potassium permanganate for 3-5 seconds to sterilize and disinfect. If you do not have potassium permanganate, you can leave it in the sun for about 5 minutes.

Insert it into the hydroponic bottle. Summer temperatures are high, and almost every household turns on the air conditioner, so you can collect some air conditioner water to use as culture water for better results, then place it in a cool spot with scattered light for care.

Then you need to add this one thing - willow branches. Willow branches contain large amounts of salicylic acid, willow acid and so on, which can promote root growth in lucky bamboo, making big thick roots sprout abundantly, and also help with sprouting.

Before the lucky bamboo has grown roots, the water needs to be changed every few days, so you can cut the willow branches into small segments, crush them, and put them directly into the hydroponic bottle; just put in 2-3 segments each time you change the water. If the lucky bamboo has already grown roots, prepare a large bucket, put the crushed branches in, then add an appropriate amount of water to soak them, and add willow branch water once every 3-5 days. The amount should not be too much; this can also promote rooting and sprouting, but it should not be done too often. During the growing season, add it about 3 times and then stop, and repeat after one month.

That is all for the care of lucky bamboo. If fellow gardening enthusiasts have other additions, you can share them with everyone in the comment section below. To learn more about plant care, you can follow Huajianke!
