My mother moved to the city to live with us, and every time she went out to buy groceries she was gone for a long time. When I went out to look for her, my eyes turned red.
A mother's love is one of the greatest emotions in the world. People often say a mother's love is like water, and indeed, although a mother's love may not be grand and magnificent, it can moisten all things silently. Even the smallest things can let a person feel the deep affection of a mother's love. And I, as a daughter, once had this kind of personal experience. Although they were just ordinary little things, the love my mother gave me was incomparably deep.
I was born into a rural family. My parents raised me through great hardship and, with their meager income, sent me to the city to support me through school. After I graduated from university, I found a boyfriend from the city. Although he was a city person, his family circumstances were not very good. Not only was it a single-parent family, but his mother was also chronically ill. Even so, my boyfriend's character was very good: honest, kind, diligent, and eager to improve. He was also very considerate toward me. Although my mother was not very satisfied with my boyfriend's family circumstances, when she saw how good our relationship was, she did not say much more and tacitly consented to our marriage.
However, not long after my husband and I got married, one thing after another happened at home. First my mother-in-law passed away, and then I became pregnant. This series of events left my husband and me dizzy and at a loss. Just when we felt most helpless, my mother rushed over from the countryside. In order to take care of my daily life, my mother stayed to live with us. After my mother came, our burden in life was greatly reduced, because my mother took on almost all the housework. Whether it was food, clothing, housing, or transportation, she handled everything in perfect order. Seeing my mother toiling away all day, my heart was filled with gratitude and guilt. I felt that after growing up, I had not yet had the chance to be filial to my mother, yet I had still made her worry and wear herself out for me.
However, as the days went on, I noticed that my mother's behavior was a little strange. There was originally a vegetable market near our residential community, but every day my mother took a very long time to buy groceries. This made me very curious. Then one day, my mother went out to buy groceries as usual, but after she had been gone a long time, she still did not come back. I saw that the sun outside was very harsh and worried that something might have happened to my mother, so I dragged my pregnant body out to look for her. However, when I arrived at the vegetable market, I found my mother still squatting on the ground, her hands constantly picking through all kinds of vegetables. Seeing this scene, I was very surprised and hurried over to ask my mother. It turned out that my mother saw how hard we worked and wanted us to eat a little better. So every time she bought groceries, she practically went around every stall, choosing again and again and picking again and again, determined to bring home the freshest vegetables.
After hearing my mother say this, I was instantly stunned on the spot, and two crystal-clear teardrops fell uncontrollably. At that moment, my heart was filled with a deep warmth. I felt that with my mother by my side, life had become so beautiful.
