1. Soil

Growing Rieger begonia requires well-drained soil. For home growing, you can mix coconut coir, vermiculite, etc. as its potting mix, or mix peat moss and perlite at a 4:1 ratio to prepare its potting mix.

2. Temperature

The optimal growing temperature for Rieger begonia is 18-22°C. It is not tolerant of high temperatures; the temperature must not exceed 28°C, so in summer it is best to place it in an air-conditioned room indoors. It is also not tolerant of low temperatures; the temperature must not drop below 15°C, so in winter it is best to place it in a heated room indoors.

3. Light

It prefers semi-shaded growing conditions. In summer, use a shade board to shade it, to prevent strong light from scorching it. In winter it happens to bloom, so place it in a well-lit spot such as a balcony to help it flower.

4. Fertilizing

Growing it requires regular fertilizing. Fertilize young seedlings mainly with nitrogen fertilizer, which helps it grow branches and leaves faster. Before flowering, increase the amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer applied, which helps it produce brighter and more vivid flowers.
