How many of the wonderful little things from childhood summers do you still remember?

Major Heat has passed, and the hottest summer of the year has arrived! It seems that even the wind blowing through the air carries the unique summer heat. Although air conditioning and wifi have become indispensable parts of summer today, sometimes we still miss that joyful summer.

Summer in my memory is the season of watermelon.

In an era without refrigerators or air conditioning,

the courtyard at the mouth of the alley was the perfect place to chill watermelon.

Drop the watermelon into a bamboo basket,

soak it in the clear, cool well water for half a day,

fish it out and cut it in half,

red flesh and green rind,

the sweet juice immediately runs down,

take a bite,

coolness fills your mouth.

The summer of childhood,

what stirs the heart most is still the fruits and vegetables.

Pick a prickly cucumber by the roadside field ridge,

one bite and the fresh taste fills your mouth.

Not to mention the grapes covering the trellis,

hanging in clusters over the archway, filling the air with fragrance.

Bring over a small stool,

stand on it and grab a handful, your hands full of sweet juice.

My favorite thing in childhood memories,

naturally, was playing in the lake with friends.

Endless lotus leaves crowded together,

seeming to stretch all the way to the horizon.

Huge, gorgeous lotus flowers,

stretching out among the green leaves.

Paddling a small boat and drifting on the lake,

laughter and chatter faintly drifted out.

Although many years have passed,

the summer of childhood in my memory,

still seems vividly reflected in my mind.

Even after ten or twenty years have passed,

thinking of that summer, it is still beautiful.
