What causes gardenia buds to drop
1. Too much light
Cause: If the gardenia is exposed to strong light for too long, the plant is easily sunburned, which leads to bud drop.
Solution: Use a shade board to block part of the light for it. But be careful not to block all the light, otherwise it will not be able to bloom normally.
2. Too much water
Cause: Many flower growers water the gardenia heavily because it likes moisture. This causes waterlogging in the soil, which damages its root system. Once its roots are damaged, nutrient absorption is affected, which leads to bud drop.
Solution: If there is still water in the soil, do not water for the time being, and put it in a ventilated place to let the water evaporate. After that, reduce the watering frequency to prevent this situation from happening again.
3. Forgetting to fertilize
Cause: Its blooming requires nutrients from fertilizer. If it is not fertilized for a long time, it will lack nutrients and be unable to bloom, which causes the buds to drop.
Solution: Replenish fertilizer on time for it, and be sure to apply light fertilizer frequently, not too much at once.
