What to Do When Night-blooming Jasmine Leaves Turn Yellow? Cause Analysis and Solutions

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
There are many reasons why night-blooming jasmine leaves turn yellow: if it is caused by improper watering, keep the potting soil moist, and if the amount of water is too large, loosen the soil. If it is caused by insufficient light, give it more light, but do not let it be exposed to blazing sun in summer. If it is caused by improper fertilizing, apply fertilizer once every 15-20 days during the vigorous growth period, and control the amount of fertilizer well.

1. Water moderately

Cause: If night-blooming jasmine is in a waterlogged environment for a long time, it will suffer from a lack of oxygen, which will cause the leaves to turn yellow; if the potting soil is dry for a long time and in a state of water shortage, the leaves will also turn yellow.

Solution: The amount of water should be controlled well at ordinary times, keeping the potting soil moist. There should be no excess water in the potting soil, and the soil should not become compacted. If the amount of water is too large, loosen the soil appropriately and place it in a ventilated spot for care.

2. Increase light

Cause: If night-blooming jasmine grows in a place without light, it will grow poorly and its leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: When caring for it, let it receive sunlight, especially in winter, try to let it receive all-day light. At ordinary times, place it in a bright spot, but when the summer sun is very strong, shade it well and do not let it be exposed to blazing sun.

3. Fertilize scientifically

Cause: If the amount of fertilizer applied is usually too large, fertilizer burn is very likely to occur, the plant's root system will be burned, and the leaves will turn yellow; if fertilizer is lacking for a long time, the leaves will turn yellow because they cannot absorb nutrients.

Solution: Control the amount and frequency of fertilizing well. During the vigorous growth period, apply fertilizer once every 15-20 days, and the frequency should not be too high. If the amount of fertilizer applied is too large, water it more or sow some rapeseed, and after the seedlings grow, pull them out, which can consume the excess fertilizer in the potting soil.
