I reckon many plant lovers' snake plants have never bloomed either. Actually, getting it to bloom isn't that hard. So today, what Huahua is going to share with you is how to normally care for a snake plant so it can bloom successfully.

First, we have to start with the most important thing: the soil. Loose, breathable soil must be guaranteed, so the best choice is to use a specialized nutrient soil for planting, which saves us the time of mixing soil ourselves. Or you can add a little perlite to it to enhance its drainage.

When we repot it and change the soil, we can mix in some organic fertilizer, because if we want the snake plant to bloom, we need to give it certain nutrients for support. Mixing it into the soil lets it absorb them better, and later we can appropriately reduce fertilizing.

As for fertilizer, besides specialized nutrient fertilizer, we can also use eggshells, but they must be washed clean, dried and crushed beforehand, because the substances contained in eggshells happen to promote the growth of snake plants. But be careful not to add too much at once, to avoid burning its roots!

Or adding a little nutrient solution when watering is also a great help to the plant. When watering, we must control the frequency and amount well. Because snake plants are also rather afraid of water, and once watered too much, it will directly cause root rot and affect growth. So before watering, be sure to check whether the soil has already dried out before going ahead.

For flowering plants, light is an essential factor that leads to blooming, and likewise, snake plants are no exception. Proper light can not only make its leaves grow healthy and glossy, but also promote the growth of flower stalks. So we should place it in a spot where sunlight can reach it, but not in direct sunlight, otherwise the leaves will develop dry tips.
