This year's Fine Rice Award announced: Mi-Wu® Fu Rice and Dadi Organic Fragrant Rice take the championship
This year's "Fine Rice Award" winner list is out! To strengthen our country's rice competitiveness and encourage consumers to buy domestic packaged rice, the Agriculture and Food Agency has held the "Fine Rice Award" since year 105 of the Republic of China calendar. After the first round of evaluation, the 15 finalists of this year's entries were announced. Yesterday (the 3rd), the final sensory evaluation was held, and finally Mi-Wu® Fu Rice from Shou Mi Wu Enterprise Co., Ltd. and Dadi Organic Fragrant Rice from Chishang Duoli Rice Co., Ltd. won the championships in the "Taiwan Good Rice Group" and the "Taiwan Organic Rice Group" respectively.

Food expert: Taiwan really has a lot of good rice!
Culinary and food expert Cai Jifang pointed out that the quality of the products shortlisted for the finals this time was evenly matched, with little difference. She cares most about taste and aroma, and likes rice grains that are chewy, not too soft when cooked, and have a special aroma when chewed in the mouth.
"Taiwan really has a lot of good rice!" She said that although in recent years domestic diets have become more Westernized and the proportion of people cooking has decreased, affecting rice consumption, Taiwan's rice is excellent in quality and diverse in varieties, and is in no way inferior to imported rice. She pointed out that the number of entries for the "Fine Rice Award" has increased year after year. This year's rice varieties shortlisted for the finals were diverse, including traditional rice (such as Taikeng No. 9) and new rice varieties (such as Taichung 194), and the production areas were distributed across various places. This can encourage more farmers to engage in production and also help consumers learn about Taiwan's diverse rice varieties.
