In the process of caring for roses, the use of fertilizer is very particular. Generally we recommend using organic fertilizer, and there are also very many types of organic fertilizer. It is not simply a matter of scattering whatever fertilizer you have into the soil.

Where does organic fertilizer come from?

Organic fertilizer generally refers to farmyard manure. Its sources are very wide, its quantity is very large, its nutrients are complete and rich, and its fertilizing effect is also significant. However, it must undergo fermentation and decomposition by microorganisms before it can be absorbed by plants, and it can also improve the effect of soil cultivation.

Organic fertilizer materials are everywhere in life, such as agricultural residues, straw, soybean meal, cottonseed meal, shiitake mushroom residue, wood residue and so on. Poultry and livestock manure, and the feces of chickens, ducks, fish, cows, horses, rabbits and so on, also become organic fertilizer after fermentation. Distiller's grains, vinegar grains, sugar residue, bran residue or kitchen waste can also be used as raw materials for fermenting organic fertilizer.

The relatively big difficulty for ordinary people in using these organic fertilizers is the fermentation process, because during fermentation, a lot of nitrogen is absorbed and then used to release heat. If this process happens in a flower pot, or around where roses are growing, it can easily cause seedling burn, or the phenomenon of nutrient deficiency.

But flower lovers also have doubts: doesn't organic fertilizer have a lot of nitrogen? That is already fully fermented nitrogen fertilizer, because when fermentation is complete, it will also release a lot of nitrogen. But during the fermentation process, nitrogen fertilizer is absorbed for fermentation, so without nitrogen fertilizer, the other nutrient elements simply do not play much of a role. The most important thing is that during the process of nitrogen being absorbed, a lot of heat is released.

But some flower lovers also say that fish intestines buried in spring have no problems at all, but by summer, the roses die. This is because in spring, the temperature is relatively low, and the fish intestines are buried deep underground, so the fermentation speed is relatively slow. But by summer, the temperature is relatively high, microorganisms are more active, the fermentation speed is relatively fast, and more heat is produced. In addition, with relatively more rain, the soil is washed away, the heat will rise up, causing the rose roots to be burned by the heat.

Huahua suggests that flower lovers who are not very professional should still buy organic fertilizer specially made for roses, with rich and balanced nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium content, and with various organic matter, minerals, amino acids, trace elements, calcium, magnesium, iron, boron and other elements added. It can promote the plant to grow vigorously, and there will not be any fertilizer burn. It is an effective guarantee for the growth and blooming of roses.
